  1. That's only an SB14 in name. Bit cheeky innit....
  2. Ah, working for me too now. Was def FUBARED for some time before though
  3. Doesn't seem to be working... Or is it me? Or have they all hopped it to NAMM show and switched it off?
  4. Peter sold me some strings. Arrived quickly and all good. Thank you!
  5. Well, one is a 1x10 cab running at 8 ohms and the other is a 1x12 cab running at 4 ohms. And about £100 difference from what i can see. You'll only get about half your amps potential power into the 10/8 The 12" speaker will probably sound a bit deeper than the 10" The single 10" one will probably not have enough oomph at pub gig levels Go and try them out.....
  6. Why not just PM a corrected version? Occasionally people get into a bunfight with each other and the Mods have to step in to resolve it. If you can alter the message trail that would create a problem for them.
  7. I haven't a clue what I'm talking about scientifically but I would hazard a guess they wouldn't. SPL would be affected by the amount of air moved at a set volume on the amp. And a 2x10 is moving twice as much air as a 1x10. I don't think it would be twice as loud but I'm sure someone who knows what they're talking about will pop up soon and explain 🙂
  8. I grabbed a new one of those a few weeks back. Absolutely bonkers light - I nearly fell over backwards when I picked it up! Looking forward to using it in anger....
  9. NOW GONE About 25 UK Bass Guitar magazines. Most not even out of the packaging and all in good condition. Free to anyone who wants them or may swap for a nice 5 string Warwick ☺️ Collection from CM22 7NH near Harlow, Bishops Stortford, Chelmsford Essex please.
  10. Counter clockwise should lower the saddles. Check that they aren't already bottomed out. Try and add a picture taken looking under the front of the saddles if you can...
  11. A GR Bass AT212 slim cab may fit
  12. Looks like they just screw into the sides don't they?
  13. That chap's on dwugs! Look at the other one he is selling. Check out the tuners... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196918679564?itmmeta=01JHE559H1T9PGE1Q778D1K14Y&hash=item2dd944980c:g:zUcAAOSwWAFncbEJ
  14. If it was me I would probably get the neck refinished by a decent luthier in a similar finish. I'm sure you can get plenty of more user friendly lacquers nowadays. You would keep the general spec of the bass closer to original and preserve any resale price more that way?

What's the Basschat perceived definition of a Jazz bass? Is it the neck, the electronics or the body shape? Does this count? Jazz shape/size neck, bound and blocks, Jazz style pickups, VVT plus 3 band actives. And a Precision shaped body.

  17. If Andertons were going to attend the Geetar side of things then maybe Cici and Lee might like to bring a pile of stuff and do some bass exclusive demos? They're always entertaining to watch on the videos, great players and would probably sell some gear for Andertons as a result
  18. New all Italian set up. I sold all my other cabs and gigging amps and downsized to something I can use at home but will cope if i decide to start gigging again. (Also wanted a 5er to try and Andertons came up with this Markbass Gloxy at a cracking price)
  19. The Andertons sale and the Markbass Gloxy nailed me - I had to go for it as they were going to sell out and it was a total bargain! Thank you to @neepheid once again for being a grown up and keeping everyone in line
  20. I'm a week or so in to it and havent touched my 4 string at all. On the 5er if I sit and play finger style I seem to be adapting fairly quickly. Standing up seems to generate more mistakes so I've shortened the strap a little and that seems to help a bit - don't know why though. But if I play with a pick everything seems much harder/less accurate even if I totally lay off the B string and just play the usual stuff on the usual strings. I've been a pick player all my life! Any suggestions?
  21. Same here - living on the edge!
