1. [s]For Sale[/s] NOW SOLD THANKS Seymour Duncan Doubleback Compressor. £60 collected or add £5 for recorded next day delivery. Great compressor pedal with true bypass and a useful blend control (the clean blend control adds the raw tone back into your sound that most compressors seem to lose. It also has a couple of eq boost settings - highs, mids and full range that are very useful. Dead easy to use too...... I liked it so much i treated myself to a SD Studio Bass compressor so this is sat in the spares drawer. Excellent condition including box and instructions. Velcro underneath. 3. I am the same with Elixirs - every now and again i have another go at them because i usually change strings after about 4 gigs (when the zing begins to fade) and i keep thinking i can save some money in the long run. And every time i take them off after a few days because they sound like 5 gig old strings from new........ The only strings that really seemed to last noticeably longer were Daddario NYXL's. I was surprised to find that i really liked them and actually got about 8 gigs out of a set. They sounded like 2 gig old strings and pretty much stayed like that. And i second the Super Bright recommendations - they're my 'go to' string now
4.
Leads are the same as I always use. Just tried a battery and there is no difference. The noise tends to be stronger when the NM2 is put on the floor as apposed to the arm of the sofa?!? If it is a dodgy unit and a Earth problem is there a DIY solution?
If its a new unit don't mess about with it because you'll void any warranty. Just return it
5. Sounds like an earth issue Have you actually changed the lead and tried it on batteries? Or you may just have a duffer - try it plugged into any other amp you can find or trot back to the shop
6. Zoom B1on for the win..... Phones out, aux in and about a zillion amps and effects to fool around with
7. Mudpup

Virus's

Its not sorted - i was getting it today on a Windows 10 laptop in Chrome.
8. never mind that old malarkey - what does the rig sound like?????? I nearly went for it........:-)
9. If you're thinking of going down an amp/cab solution rather than a combo and letting your mates stand on it i reckon the build quality of the cab is the least of your worries....unless you bolt the amp on the top of it of course
10. i can't believe this is still here at that price.......
11. The Berg equivalent isn't the HD212 - that has ceramic speakers which are much heavier. The others are Neo's and thats where a large part of the weight in the cab is. The Berg HDN212 is the Neo equivalent and weighs 48lbs. Its also made of lighter weight ply than the HD series which is Baltic birch.
12. I've got one of these - i reckon its a bit optimistic but they are truly fantastic basses
13. That looks like good value - good spot!
14. Just bought Jamies Bergantino cab - an absolute pleasure to deal with! Great bloke and real easy transaction Thanks very much
15. Have a 'top bloke and thanks for the Berg' type bump........... and that Quilter is a wicked bit of kit too - thanks for letting me have a go on it, if i needed another amp etc........:-)
16. actual pictures now added to thread
17. Thanks ped duly noted
18. i have one of these - its a fantastic case, very under the radar compared to some of the more boutique brands. Absolutely loads of useable storage and brilliant protection. Have a 15 minute bump from me :-)
19. Probably just me being dumb but... I just posted a for sale advert recently and went to edit it this morning. I assumed i would find it in the 'My Content' area of my profile but its not there. Its in the 'Content I Follow' bit. Is that a bit illogical or is it just me? Or have i done it wrong? As you can probably guess, i have way too much time on my hands this morning
20. [s]For Sale [/s] SOLD Tech21 Paradriver DI v2 Bought new just 1 month ago and gigged 4 times so immaculate condition. Velcro on the bottom and still in the tin with sticker and bubblewrap. If you're reading this you probably know what it does but its essentially a BDDI with a sweepable mid control and a couple of different filters. Its the newer version 2 model. OVERVIEW The Tech 21 SansAmp Para Driver DI Instrument Preamp Pedal provides detailed tone-shaping possibilities for acoustic guitars, electric guitars, and electric and upright basses, either direct to a mixing console or with an instrument amplifier. 21. epic sparkly bass too!
22. How about a 'heft' workshop ;-) An explanation of - What it is A demo of amps that certainly have it A demo of amps that say they have it A demo of amps that dont actually have it....... A demo of amps that have it and you can carry easily A demo of amps that have it but you need a roadie to carry and then the same for people that have a different idea of what it is Sort of 'the definitive heft' thread acted out with real stuff :-) ps that started off a bit tongue in cheek but maybe its an idea?
