1. You shameless name dropper you!!
2. For once I agree entirely with BRX and for me...old is good!
3. Oh wow, loving that 2 tone sunburst, and it looks so much better with the black scratchplate than with Ash's tort one! Shame 500 sovs is a bit beyond my reach
4. Well I liked it.......I don't give a monkeys what you lot thought!
5. A brand new Squier P pro..ie it has a jazz pickup at the bridge, I loved it to bits until I blagged a 2nd hand Yam I fell for instantly, I recently dug out the squier and stuck a fretless neck on it, only then realising how bad the neck was, like a damn ski jump in fact. I still gig the yam regularly!
6. 1st gig with my 2nd band, but was in a pukka music venue rather than setting up in the corner of the local. WHAT A BLAST! Such a wonderful sight to see a packed venue all jumping about, punters falling over themselves to get to a mic and sing along. I reckon we could have played all night if we had more songs ready to roll! Maan I wanna go back there!!! Fox and Hounds, Stony Stratford, I salute you!
7.
In the last band I was in , we payed blues , performed by engineers , it kind of lacked spontanaity and dare I say musicality
Damn.....I'm an engineer
8. I've had a Chris Squire likeness aimed at me, sadly its the current version, not the svelte 70's model
9. Saw Oasish round here a while back, as a tribute band they were spot on, crap, undefined wall of noise and a lead singer with no personality whatsoever, had to tip my hat to their efforts!
10. Geoff Leopard and Fred Zeppelin always tickled me But the ones already mentioned are excellent!
11. In response to original question, simple answer is, vocal only PA, no monitors= no choice. I played at a jam night a week or so back, with full PA and 4 or 5 monitors, plugged in and went, it was lovely, just a luxury my bands can't afford.
12. Classy stuff Skank, I never thought you were THAT old mind
13. Saw him with UK in '78, classy stuff, still play the vynyl now
14. I tip my hat to the lot of you, excellent work all round made choosing 1 very difficult. I wish I had the patience (and the chops) to come up with something even close to these works!
15. I hate bright zingy strings, DR's for me.....neons in green, last for effin ages, two and a half years on my Yammy 4 string and still as good as gold, look darn cool too lol!
16. Materials for the transformer? Also accounts for the weight to be sure!
17. After growing up listening to Daryl Way I managed to get all 3 right, dunno what that says about me, or Daryl's choice of plastic violin to be honest...
18. Not me! I'm one of the nice ones Welcome aboard, post long and often!
19.
IMO - this is The Imagined Village at their very best:
Jeepers that was incredible! Never heard of them up til now, must go away and find stuff!
20. Very Impressive, are you touring?
21. Sold my Peavey Cirrus as the neck was WAY too slim for me, replaced with a Yam TRB which I find much wider and easier to use. I wouldn't say the Yamaha is particularly narrow, and that suits me fine edit for my dodgy spelling
22. If ya want coloured strings, gotta be DR Neons, they are the Mutz danglies! http://www.drstrings.com/#!neon/chts
23.
I got them all apart from two from the first round, I think it was Coldplay and McFly or something, so nothing I was really missing out on.
Double ditto, nailed the 2nd round lowest score though and mid table 1st round comfortably through I think! *smug grin*
24.
This is a live video of Aura Negra (played with hidden mics in a vintage clothes shop)
that song is finger down the spine chilling awesome! getting it played in the radio is a coup and a half, well done guys n gals!!
