  1. Best Precision I ever played was a Lakland.
  2. I love the Tech stuff. Cabs are very high build quality and super light. Sound dispersal is very good so you can hear what you're playing when stood right next to it. They are also very sensitive so don't need masses of power, and are extremely loud. I love the look too but that's subjective. I reckon the 4x12 that's for sale would easily give any 8x10 a good run for it's money at a fraction of the weight. and the 4x10 wouldn't be far off either.
  3. Big, clean and punchy in a lightweight setup to me = GB Streamliner or GK MB Fusion. Cab wise, there are a couple of Tech Soundsystems in the F/S section which are epic cabs.
  4. Kissing with Confidence - Will Powers MMmmm Mmmm Mmm - Crash Test Dummies Oh Superman - Lori Anderson Everybody's Free to wear Sunscreen - Baz Luhrman
  5. Genz Benz Shuttle sounds about right. The 300 Watt ones are cheap as chips and also come in a kind of combo (attached to a 1x10 cab) if memory serves me right.
  6. Discreet has nailed it. You could also angle your cab away from the singer.
  7. This should run at 2 Ohms as well. Cracking sounding amp. Compressoer is rubbish though but don't let that put you off.
  8. The worst part of gigging bar none.
  9. Just bought a GK amp from Ryan. Exactly as described. Would deal with him any time.
  10. Has done a fair bit with Warren Haynes and Government Mule. Terrific player who often scat sings what he is playing on the bass which is quite awesome to watch. Think there is a Youtube clip of him doing this with Lee Pomeroy.
  11. Hello, is it me you're looking for? Baby, baby, where did our love go? Can I get a witness?
  12. At a gig once a punter shouted out 'What does the bass do?' I replied, 'OK, I won't play in the next song' and the band backed me. It sounded sh*te and when I started playing again in the next song I got a big cheer. It's not only punters who don't know what we do but I'm lucky that my bandmates do.
  13. I'd have a serious look at the Tech Sounsystems 4x10 in the FS section. Huge capability and ridiculously light.
  14. Fantastic gear and so light it's spooky. Tech stuff is the best kept secret in my opinion. Have a bump.

I use a Black Jag 500 head through a TechSoundsystems 2x12. It's the best sounding rig I've had and frequently gets good comments. It has boostable EQ sections but I never use them. Everything is set at roughly 12 o clock and it cuts through the mix like nothing else I've ever had.
  16. Used a Mk VI head for years and it never missed a beat and had a hard time. Very loud and versatile eq section with sliders and shelving. Felt like it had a concrete block down one end when you picked it up though.
  17. Are you looking for a combo or separates (head and cabinet)?
  18. I would love to have played in Seal's band. He's written some fabulous stuff.
  19. I love Genz stuff but since they were sunk by Fender I'd go for the Aggie.
  20. To state that Baker was a different class to John Bonham almost made me drop my beer. Think it was Clapton that said it. Baker always struck me as a complete tool and nothing in the film changed my opinion of him. Thoroughly unpleasant bloke.
  21. Love the caption on the back by the mains input.
  22. Brilliant!
  23. Pino stepped into the breech at extremely short notice when Entwhistle died. The band hardly broke stride which is great credit to Pino. Perhaps some of the people bemoaning his position in the Who would like to suggest an alternative who was available at the time and would still be available now. Can't level any criticism at him for not being John Entwhistle.
  24. Love Tecamp stuff. Well made, powerful, versatile and light weight. Beats anything else I've tried hands down.
