Coldplay album review. (Possibly a bit harsh!! :) )
chaypup replied to fretmeister's topic in General Discussion
I predict that this thread will go: 3 posts agreeing with OP 1 post saying hang on a minute chaps, we're all musicians 2 posts from latecomers having mega lolz at said review. A series of posts condeming the OP for being anti-musician and calling for him to be hung 1 post from the Coldplay bass player's mum saying actually, it's quite funny. Lock. -
The White Band did ok.
Love this post, can't believe no-one else guffawed at this!
Had a fair few in my time including those I have reviewed for Bacchus / Deviser of course. Lets think. Epiphone - piece of crap for beginners MIJ Aria Pro II - beginner so didn't know value of bass - liked it though Vestax 5 string - shiiite US Pedulla pentabuzz fretless - gorgeous US Pedulla Rapture - hmmm not so hot. UK JD 4 string fretless - excellent US Fender Precision Deluxe MIJ Yamaha TRB PII 6 MIJ ESP - Jaguar style bass - forget the name - good bass though. MIJ ESP Amaze 4 string - Amazing just as you'd expect, but bloody pricey! MIJ ESP Amaze 5 String - Oh yeah! MIJ ESP Bottom Line Fretless - very nice, chinnamon pre sounds beautiful. MIJ ESP Edwards EAM128 QM - great! Much like the Amaze but p-ups not as good MIJ ESP Edwards Ikuo Signature, Black - yeah great instrument indeed, good for heavy rock / funk. MIJ ESP J signature Bass - nice enough, not my kind of bass though... and so expensive! MIJ Moon JJ5 Fretless - Awesome MIJ Moon JB4 - Ken armstrongs - yup, very very nice MIJ Moon JJ4 - Superb MIJ Blade B2 - Blue Stain - great, bit bright though. MIJ Blade B3 - Natural - gorgeous! MIJ Blade B4 5 string - cherry burst - NTMB preamp oh yeaaaahhh ! MIJ Kubicki Blaster - white - Cool, great neck, light weight body, punchy as you like! MIJ Kubicki Blaster - Red - My current refurb project. MIJ Bacchus STrong 4 - NTMB pre, f'in great! MIJ Bacchus Woodline 4 -2002 - A simple but fantastic jazz bass, great build quality. MIJ Bacchus Strong 5 - NTMB - One of the best I ever played. MIJ Bacchus Strong LTD 4 - NTMB - Even better than above. MIJ Bacchus Standard 5 - Maple board, barts, XTCT pre - Very very nice indeed MIJ Bacchus Standard 5 - Ebony board, XTCT Pre - " " MIJ Bacchus Grooveline 5 - XTCT Pre - Yes, YEs YES! Brilliant, loved it, so simple and light, but kicked ass and just sounded good right away. MIJ Bacchus STD JB5 - Aguilar OPB2 - Awesomeness, nice tonal variety MIJ Bacchus TF5ASH - "" "" - My go to bass right now MIJ Bacchus Twentyfour 5 LTD Zebrawood 2004 XTCT- Oh my god! MIJ Bacchus Twentyfour 5 LTD 2006 NTMB - Quilted Maple - Ash - Holy cow of Bethlehem! MIJ Bacchus Twentyfour 5 2003 Alder - XTCT - Pretty fine, but not as good as the others above MIJ Bacchus WLJB5 - Passive - great very very nice Jazz bass indeed. MIJ Bacchus Woodline DX5 Passive - Uh huh, this was beautiful, very clear but rich tone MIJ Bacchus Woodline DX5AC - XTCT pre - Superb MIJ Bacchus Woodline DX4AC - XTCT pre - " " MIJ Bacchus Twentyfour DX5 - XTCT - Brilliant sound, not my favourite neck though, prefer the TF5ASH. MIJ Bacchus Twentyfour DX4 - XTCT - " " MIJ Bacchus DX5BGP - Sexy looks, lightweight, big sound. Love it. MIP Bacchus TF 501 - Big bang for small buck - yeah it's very good but lacks the attention to detail it's MIJ cousins have.. MIC Bacchus UG4M - Bass Bomb pre - holy f@%k for an MIC bass surprisingly excellent. It kicks! Still using this as a four string. MIJ Bacchus BJ PJ bass 1998 - blow job in yer pajamas? Almost better than sex, but not quite. MIJ Made By Aska - AC70's 5 - XTCT Oh my god, just gorgeous. STR Build at affordable prices. MIJ 1997 Ken Smith Burner 5 - Ken Smith Tone and build quality at an affordable price. Very very very nice indeed. MIJ Atelier Z JHJ89 - Really really nicely made, sounded great to, but I didn't like the neck profile too much personally. I think there were a few others, but not so memorable ones. I have had numerous Bacchus handmade come through me, like about 20 or so used models, all very consistent in build, so didn't list them all as they were the same models just different stains. Yes, I live in Japan! If you're looking for any MIJ models just gimme a shout I may be able to help
I need to move to Japan.
I've reflected on my post #27 and realised that I have probably not clearly conveyed my sinus - infected thoughts. No - one has mentioned anything via PM or any other means, I just realise my comment could be misleading. At the time of writing, I thought disrespect was being shown for the musicians of the Titanic and that was what I took exception to. However, I now realise that my post could read as though I considered disrespect was being shown for me, which wasn't what I was thinking at all. Apologies to Chaypup, who was good enough to acknowledge my post. Also apologies to the OP for dampening the tone of the thread with what could appear to be a loss of sense of proportion
No disrespect meant to your good self or to anyone that died in horrible circumstances - just a flippant joke, hope it doesn't get up your nose too much. Edit: Must remember emoticons!
-
The musicians on the Titanic had to remember over 150 songs, any one of which would be requested in the moment.
...and look where that got them!
and how about one of our basschat favourites, snarky puppy? - i would put my money on the keyboard players or the drummer or some of the brass section
They are all monster musicians in Snarky Puppy! Have you heard (keys player) Corey Henry's other work? Outstanding! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l0xppLcgl4
