1. Liking the looks of this Tokai - nice! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tokai-1983-Bass-/161209637526?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2588d7da96
2. Sexy looking Ibanez Silver Series - an hour to go! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-IBANEZ-1977-LAWSUIT-SILVER-SERIES-JAZZ-BASS-GUITAR-SMOKED-NATURAL-SWAMP-ASH/181306696637?rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D74%26meid%3D4434286781650943369%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1048%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D261365108973%26#ht_153wt_959
3.
I've heard of people recording vocals in the bathroom because of the natural reverb, but I don't think there'd be enough rehearsal space around the bath for an entire band. I recommend putting the drummer in the bath itself. Also, you may struggle to find an electrical socket to plug your amps into.
Haha brilliant!
4. Hmmm, I dunno, pickups are wrong for a TM5 as is the logo, also the video is from 2000 were TM5's being made then? The headstock looks wromg for a Moon. Logo possibly suggests a Marleaux?
5.
Get rich quick? YouTube? Ha! The only people getting rich of YouTube are the ones with millions of subscribers/views. Bass channels don't get anywhere near enough subscribers or views to make you "rich". You might earn a bit from it, but I can't really see bassist plodding along to a song earning enough to even live off.
I expect Marlowe DK does alright out of it as do the players with pretty faces and low-cut tops.
6.
Carefully disassemble and take the affected panels to be re powder coated. Its not that expensive and the only way to get it perfect. Additionally you can get a groovy different colour and it'll look like a pro factory finish too. I have been considering this for my rh750 :^)
Oooo nice idea - custom job!
Bin it and buy a new one.
I'll give you the address of my bin when I do.
7. It's a Moon isn't it? 8.
Good luck with it! I've managed to avoid the expenditure and stress by not having a band. First I'd be far too groomzilla about it, second wedding band fees are better spent elsewhere. And I've not seen a cliché-free wedding band setlist in forever.
I'd just like to say thanks from everyone in a band trying to make a living.
9.
Have to say I've always been a bit disappointed with the Food at Ronnies....
Ok for vegans though
10. It's quite a deep scratch unfortunately so T-cut wouldn't work.
11. We've had some absolute crackers recently - here's a clip from Saturday. http://youtu.be/0wyTv8hYZhk No idea why it won't embed...
12. I have aquired a couple of scratches in my TC Electronic Classic 450 head - is there anything I can use to touch it up? I suspect not as it's a powder-coated finish but maybe the hive mind of Basschat knows of a solution?
13. If you email them they normally release it the same day. (IME anyway)
14.
No, no; it's not your fault, it's mine. One of my (few..?) pet dislikes, the use of these 'Americanised' versions. Where did our word 'obsequity' go..? We see (and hear, even from Auntie Beeb..!) 'competitiveness' replacing 'competitivity', 'scarceness' instead of 'scarcity'; the list lengthens regularly, it would seem. No, it's just me, being old and crotchety again. Please ignore...
Crotchetous surely?
15. Nothing wrong with slippery passages
16. Anything you'd trade for?
17. Topics are locked once an item is sold, therefore forum members will now that it is sold by the fact that it is locked. Nothing for you to do so sit back and relax!
18. We supported these guys a few months back - tight as a gnat's crotchet they were and great chaps to talk to too.
19. Anyone remember Quazar? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBh8hdQIui8
20. I'm interested! I dep for Capital City Ska and did the Ska musical on it's Cardiff runs.
21.
I played a couple of house tunes on Friday for a gig with a soul choir and the bass lines were both pretty good. Not as hooky as that one but grooving nonetheless.
Nice! What band was that and where?
22. 23.
This been on yet?
We do this with a full choir sometimes - sounds great! And one we're about to do.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2lJLbgUBGc
24. Do you call it a Wazz? I think it looks great btw!
25.
One of the beautiful things about music is that you can be making, writing, and performing some beautiful stuff without needing to be technically amazing. You don't need to reach the pinnacle of technical proficiency to enjoy it. :-)
+1 Very well said.
