Mostly on here or eBay, my first few basses were in shop purchases. But the shops around me were (it might have changed in the past 10+ years) very limited in their bass range. Also, I prefere second hand savings. So far I've never had a bass which wasn't as described/something wrong, but if I don't get on with it, it's easy enough to sell it on without as much of a loss if it was brand new.

Did the maple board on my 18yr old bronco yesterday, scrubbed with an old toothbrush and warm (lightly soaped) water, frets gone over with fine grade wire wool, then a good go over with autoglym car polish. I use nomad f-oil on the ebony fretboard of my Warwick thumb. I'd say they're both the same to maintain, just depends on what you want to do in the way of care.

Lovely looking bass, I've had 3 ATK's over the years, never an 810 though. Nice upgrades, this ticks many boxes with versatility.

Project Bass Couldn't see this posted before. I had to google the woods, never seem them used for instruments. And what's with the 2 random screws in the body?

I've had a similar issue with a USB interface, it was like I was using a delay pedal. Ended up buying a more modern one and the problem went. But yes, it was off putting trying to record on it.

Mine arrived today, alas no AA's indoors, so will have to wait till tomorrow. It could do with a belt attachment

3 now: A squier bronco which was my first bass, a gift 17 years ago. It's in a case in the wardrobe, only play it for nostalgia now. Warwick thumb, absolutely love it, I've been a fender style bass player since I started, but I wish I'd tried a Warwick back then, it would've been a whole different story. And finally a 70's fsr precision bass, because everyone needs a precision. Doesn't get as much use as the thumb, but it looks and plays nicely.

As above with the single cut bodies but also ramps, they always look like an afterthought. Semi-fretless basses (Ibanez do a version), just a bit of a gimmick. Roadworn/relic jobs.
