1. Must admit that I am very much a plain black t shirt man these days with the logo ones mainly used when I am doing diy etc
2. If you don't sell them here get them on eBay. I have just paid considerably more than you are asking for a pair at the Manchester gig.
3. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
4. The previous band I was in kept experimenting at wedding gigs with certain songs at the break and after ( we ran the "disco" from the drummers laptop ) and when we found a dance floor winner we learnt it and used it. Songs that spring to mind are Mr Brightside and Foo Fighters Times Like These that stopped us having to resort to Summer of 69 etc
5. Think this is going to push second hand values of the Ripper/Grabber up a considerable amount on ebay !!
6. Think there is a "capital asset" threshold so if its under it is a running expense that can be offset in the year ( strings fuel etc ) and above it then it has to depreciated over a few years as it is assumed, quite correctly, that the item will be in use over several years ( PA, Guitar etc )
7.
Jupiter from the Planets opening Mott the Hoople shows is my favourite.
Yes just remembered this, awesome start.
8. If I remember correctly you can only depreciate things like guitars etc over a period of years so for example buying a guitar for £1000 would be depreciated over say five years therefore giving you £200 per year to set against tax.
9. Pretty sure I read that the official footage will not be released until it has been aired on us prime time tv sometime in the near future so all the clips at the moment are camera phone etc.
10. Fell in love with these when I was about about 15 ( 1974 ish ) and saw them in a mag ( International Musician was it called ?? ) and would love to own one. Would you mind letting me know how much you paid ( PM is fine ) so I get a benchmark of what I could get a restoration model for. Many thanks Tony
11. I have my trusty old behringer amp and a markbass 15" cab and have played gigs from tiny pubs to 3000 biker rallies and come to the conclusion after ten years of gigging that if it needs to go louder than my current backline then we must be playing a gig that requires a big pa so therefore why take ( buy ) more than you need ??
12. Not heard it in years. What a lovely song and bassline.
13. Looking at the picture i think Noddy will be the next Dr Who !!
14. http://www.heatworld.com/Entertainment/TV/2013/03/Slade-legend-Noddy-Holders-lined-up-for-Strictly-Come-Dancing/ Could be a laugh but would prefer him to get the SG and HiWatt out of the loft and do a re-union tour !!
15. Many of the above but we also used to do a couple of pink songs that we rocked up and went down a storm.
16. Hi Peteb Heard so much about Italian Tony and met him once but never saw him play however from the comments on facebook from all the local bands etc he was much loved and respected as a bassist and sound engineer. The headstone is a fabulous tribute to a guy who obviously influenced many people. What band are you in Pete ? I used to be in Empress until last year Tony
17. Love these. Always meaning to do one of our pub gigs for the website but never find a suitable place for a tripod when I have my video camera with me.
18. This is almost for free. I have something similar unused at the moment so not in the market but at £40 I am almost tempted to keep it as a spare spare !!
19. Looks like a lovely bass for only fifty quid to me.
20. Brilliant news. Not often both work out positive but seems to have done so far. Just be careful with your time as I know from experience that juggling multiple bands can be difficult ( gigs all offered on the same night etc ) and the last thing you want now is to upset the new band.
21. Yes I believe so. I bought my geddy jazz from a guy who had had it set up by him.
22. I have the same but a 4 stringer and I never seem to see any only the 5 string version
23. So looking forward to reading this tomorrow. Hope you get the gig with the new band.
