1. Puts my old Behringer head and single Mark Bass cab to shame :-(
2. Got talking to a really nice guy recently on facebook who co-organises an annual RUSH convention type event and incorporated in to is a RUSH Idol event where people get up and do their stuff. I think it is loosely based around a house band/jam night type of thing and listening to some of the previous videos there are some decent players and singers out there ( and a few that perhaps shouldnt have got up lol ) This years event is in October in Sheffield and it actually sounds like a whole lot of fun and a lot of RUSH things happening including headline band BRAVADO who are on my "to see" list Anyone been to a previous event or going this year ?? Facebook page is here http://www.facebook.com/rusheucon2013?fref=ts
3. 16 months without playing a gig is far too long. If its going to happen it happens fast as people "make it happen" rather than spend time making excuses. My last band formed with me and vocalist ( from previous band together but only carried over 5 songs max ) and two guys we had never seen before and from first meet to gig ( two full sets etc at paid pub gig ) was two months !! We were ropey but two days later at next gig 100% better and that was it we were on our way.
4. I totally agree with all the honest comments but but but I am getting older, they are getting older, they were the band that took me from glam rock in to everything else. Yes I have seen them before and it's a small fortune but looking at YouTube yesterday I see three of my heroes from my youth out there having great fun and I want to be part of it again. I doubt it will be the last tour of the uk but I would be fuming if I missed it and they never toured again. On a side note and taking all things in to consideration I thought the time machine tour was a brilliant show and loved every minute of it.
5. Since reading Neil Pearts Ghost Rider I seem to have got really fixated on Rush once again. I was fanatical about the band in the 70's and early eighties but not really bought much since then. Seen them a few times over the years and thought they were excellent last time on the Time Machine tour and decided that yes I am going to get to the Manchester or possibly Sheffield gig in May when I can get the right tickets as I don't want to be sat at the back. I find Rush so much more of a fun band now than they were. Might be just my perception but I always thought they were a little mystical and distant but they just seem like they are a bunch of lifelong friends having great fun these days. Anyone else going ?
6. Sounds and looks good to me. Guessing the female nudity was not filmed in the last ten years :-)
7. I played for several years with little improvement but joining my first band gave me that motivation to learn, practice and improve so I was ready for rehearsal and subsequently gigs. I urge you to get involved with a band as the bass becomes much more of an instrument when played within a band context.
8. A bit tentative this but how much for just the amp and are you prepared to sell it seperately ? Keep getting tempted to upgrade my current amp but on very limited funds,
9. Just thought I would say that having to travel and stay away from wifi etc occasionally over the last few weeks I have been using my iPhone on basschat and its just so brilliant how it shows me instantly what threads have been posted on or not since my last visit. Really makes it all so easy so a big thumbs up from me.
10. Trying to think back to my car sales days and it was the same for new and used but seen to remember it may have been how you payed so if you had it delivered and paid prior to delivery the distance selling rules applied.
11. Well they were brilliant and very well recommended. Full rumours album, loads of other hits and a full bluesy Peter Green set.
12.
Nearly Dan have shared a double bill with them a few times. They are excellent.
That's good to hear. Not seen a live band for a while so looking forward to it.
13. Apparently this is the 35th anniversary tour of "Rumours" coming out so guess it won't include too much Peter Green stuff but hope they do a few.
14. Off to see the above tribute tomorrow in Blackpool and looking forward to it. Anyone see them before ??

16. Sadly my fashion disaster wasn't circa 1987more like 2003 lol
17. Been laughing at the waistcoat piccies but just remembered I used to do it !! Not sure I have pics but even worse I think I have it on video !!
18. Really sorry but bass is now sold subject to the usual Apologies to anyone who has only just had a late reply Tony
19. Those two are pretty bass heavy songs to start a set with at anytime but as a first gig then well done. I like a nice couple of easy ones to start lol
20. Only thing I would add is try to let the other band members know ASAP rather than "finding out" or it may look like you are preparing to leave.
