  1. It's the same for me and at times it can be truly miserable Mrs. mac only drinks decaff tea and coffee these days. After trying many different brands, for the last few years she has stuck with Yorkshire Tea's decaff, as it actually does taste like tea.
  2. That was why I was asking if it was a new bass. Like you, I was wondering about the nut.
  3. Is this a new P bass or just new to you?
  4. Check the tuners, sometimes a loose one of them is the culprit.
  5. I feel exactly the same when playing Teenage Kicks and I thing just about every band I've been involved with has done that song.
  6. I always feel too old for rock n roll, the day after a gig.
  7. I owned one a while back. Really liked the look and feel of it but it wasn't quite the right sound, nor versatile enough for the band that I was in. Worked well on the rockier numbers but not so good for the disco/soul/dance type of material.
  8. Peek polish is the one that I use on mine and customer's instruments. Brilliant stuff.
  9. I was attempting a repair to one of their combos recently. It was very difficult as they are reluctant to send out schematics, plus parts were costly. It wouldn't have been cost effective to send the combo to their approved repair centre, which I think was in Sheffield, what with courier costs plus the labour and parts bill. So, it was a write off.
  10. Didn't know they made such a product.
  11. Congrats Andy, much deserved.
  12. Cheers Dave, all the best.
  13. I would be keeping the black guard as it coordinates pleasingly with the blocks on the fret board.
  14. That's a nice looker. Hope you're enjoying retired life. Just back from an evening with your old bandmates and having a post gig brew.
  15. I sat and read that article this morning. Chuffed for you
  16. My wife is out shopping and I'm enjoying Humble Pie, Rockin' the Fillmore
  17. Good luck with it.
  18. Done the same a few times and it's always worked well.
  19. Before considering potentially costly upgrades, have you tried adjusting the pick up height?
  20. What a lovely looking instrument. That Jack is a fine fellow Silv
  21. I'm another Fast Fret fan, always use it at the end of a set.
  22. These days I just put on a new set but a while back when I needed to conserve funds, I always gave strings an overnight soak in meths. It worked brilliantly.
  23. Check this out: https://www.bassstringsonline.com/Finding-the-correct-string-length-for-your-electric-bass_ep_46-1.html I personally use and like Chromes but they are quite high tension. I've also used Fender flats and liked them.
  24. Excellent job as always and first class playing.
