1. Thanks for the info. The Blowtorch does look pretty hardcore aswell hehe.
2.
Here is mine Twin Valve, early 90's I guess, in a very good condition, great tube sound
Wow, that looks like a beast of an amp!
3. Mhm, could just be the amp isn't able to reach the volumes anymore. Though when I played through a Laney in college before I seemed to get a weird crack noise when I played a note, which was rather annoying to say the least.
4. Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a distortion/OD pedal, and I noticed both the two pedals mentioned in the title on sale. So here comes the big question..... Which would you say is the best value for money?
5. Do you have any sound samples? Looking for clear distortion, one that has enough high and low, and with no mid mud. Thanks
6. Ordinary maple fretboards, they look so cheap. So cheap they don't even look like wood. Last time I was in Liverpool I tried a MIA P bass, sounded great, but the neck was so ugly, the maple looked like cheap plastic with a sickly yellow colour. Barts I also think are the ugliest and cheapest looking pick-ups going. They look like their also made from cheap plastic, might sound good, but it seems like Mr. Bartolini decided that the pick-ups would sound good enough to make people forget how ugly they are.
7. For my 7210H I use the preset auto Eq thingy. Though on occasion where I use alot of my B string I'll use my own Eq, which is the high pretty high, no mid and the low starting high but getting lower, if ya get me lol. Reason for this is the low B is too much for the little 2x10s to cope with hehe, so I have to lower that end of the Eq.
8. LIKE WOW!!! That is one of the coolest basses I have ever ever seen.
9. Heres my trace, along with my two basses.
10. Westfield P Bass copy in sunburst. Though now I've painted it gold and took the frets out. Surprisingly, it is a nice bass, alot better made than my shoddy first guitar, an Encore Start copy.
11. I've had this problem when I was in Liverpool before. There are the three music shops right next to each other, Curlys, Dawsons and Dolphin music. Curlys wouldn't let me try a bass as I wasn't going to by there and then, yet there was a 14 year old emo kid try a rather expensive bass for quite awhile, i mean wtf?. In Dolphin I managed to get the guy to let me have a go on a bass, he was reluctant at first. But at Dawsons let let you try anything, its quite impressive. The best service I've ever had at a guitar shop was in Florida. Shop called Georges Music (its just outside Universal Studios). They let you try anything in anything, whilst my brother was trying a MIA Fender Strat through a normal Fender Amp, I went ahead and tried an Ibanez EW Acoustic Bass and a Ibanez electric guitar through the Joe Satriani sig amp, both head and cab, worth over £2000. It was awsome
12. Ah thanks for that hehe. Like the way Jaydee make all the sections of knobs all in different styles, so its easier to find out what your changing hehe. At times like this, I wish I had £750 hehe.
13. This bass looks so cool. Just wondering though....... What do all the switches do and does the XLR output act as a DI box?
14.
I mentioned Victor Wooten earlier in this thread for his effortless coolness, but I don't quite know how to classify Bootsy Collins. Cool or utterly insane?? You decide!
Umm hard one to decide...... We could say hes like a "incoolsane", like a mixture of the two.
15.
Les Claypool
Gotta agree with ya here. Les Claypool is a seriously cool guy.
16. this makes me want £525....
17.
I use a metal pick quite a lot. I use bronzed aluminium Dunlop Teckpicks.
I on occasion use a red version hehe. Gives alot more attack than playing with my fingers.
18. is this still for sale?
19.
He gets overshadowed by Justin Chancellor but I've always thought that Paul D'Amour was ace on Opiate and Undertow by Tool.
Yeah. D'Amour played an in-your-face style, his basslines were more traditional than Chancellors, but they rocked more away from the guitar. Chancellor generally plays what seem like guitar parts on his bass, though this is because of the massive array of pitch-shifting pedals he uses in songs . Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) is under-rated in my humble opinion. Most people don't know he plays most of the bass lines for Fatboy Slim and some of them are amazing.
20. I'm confused on the guitarjapan.com site. I'm looking at the 06 Standard Hollow, which looks amazing. But at the top of the page it says it cost $1200, which in £ is ruffly £650-700ish. But then at the bottom of the page it says they are $1520 for a 4 string and $1760 for a 5 string........ As you can see I'm very confused by this, as it is a lovely bass, I wouldn't mind having one hehe.
21.
Borrow some money and spend spend spend you know it makes sense. Hehe.
Don't tempt me hehe
22. mhm, it seems I have once again become addicted to a bass on this forum hehe. I can't stop looking at it
23. If somehow this bass isn't sold in 4 weeks and I get the job I had an interview for today. I would so buy this bass, now I just need to cross my fingers all this comes true hehe. Stunning bass btw, absolutely stunning.
