I use Set List Helper and its been great for my needs. You could also buy a big stage fan to help with getting rid of his notes....

TC Electronics G-Major 2 multi effects processor. Light, 1U, multi fx, compressor, tuner (not wonderful though) and a fraction of the price of the Helix (the Helix are good though ) No distortion or overdrive type sounds.

Just sold a couple of pieces of studio gear (headphone amp and controller) to Douglas. Transaction was speedier than a speedy thing breaking the speed limit! As many others have said, he's a pleasure and a gent to do business with. Thanks, Mike

Is the baseball bat grip really that bad?
Acebassmusic replied to Zalastar's topic in Theory and Technique
I would persevere with trying to get a good technique as it will help you long term. Something doesn't sound right to me about you not having the strength to fret a string when you've got your thumb behind the neck. It shouldn't take much pressure to hold a string down. Is your bass hung too low and your wrist is bent? With your max 30 deg bend in your wrist it will cause problems if you don't have the bass neck reasonably high. As you're learning, do you have a tutor who could check this out for you? -
Excellent T.O.P. I think they should re-name the "Tiny Desk Concert" to "Normal Pub Gig Sized Area Where You're All Crammed In Concert"

I’m now asking £150 I'm starting to have a bit of a clear out of my studio and PA gear....so I can buy some more Here's my Lexicon MX 400 XL - Multi Effects Processor with internal power supply. Fully functional and in great condition apart from the scratch on the top. Still has the plastic over the screen. Comes with the manual but no original box however I will pack it very carefully (as always). Great for using either in the studio as rack hardware or linked to your DAW via the USB port, in a PA, or with an instrument through the FX loop of your amp. This is the uprated model with XLR connections. Originally these were about £550 but can be bought new for £250 now. I sometimes get a similar sound through my studio monitors....then I realise my mobile phone is close by. Move it and its gone Could there be anything close by that might affect your amp? (router, home wireless phone, mobiles etc)

I'm pleased to be able to start off Lukas's feedback thread. I've just sold my Mayones Jabba to him and would gladly deal with him again. Good communications, quick payer etc. Deal with confidence. Thanks Lukas. A hiccup in the shipping process was when the courier tracking said "Delivered to destination country - Denmark"...….and Lukas is in Sweden!

That's a nice looking bass

Ritter Roya 10th Anniversary Ltd - *SOLD*
Acebassmusic replied to Acebassmusic's topic in Basses For Sale
That sounds a splendid idea......let me check with my wife...…….. ah well....I guess not I've had quite a bit of interest in the bass, mainly for trades, but nothings quite tempted me enough yet. I think more folk would be seriously interested if I was further south in civilization and people could check it out in person. The photos are good.....but in person...…. -

Have you checked the input / output settings on the modelling side of the amp? Is there a bypass button? I ask as I once had problems with no sound on my rig.....until I found I'd set one of the outputs at 0.....doh!

BassChat Podcast Feedback & Discussion
Acebassmusic replied to Akio Dāku's topic in General Discussion
Well done! Putting together 2hrs of material is NOT a 2hr job so thank you everyone for the time and work you've put in. As a couple of people have mentioned above I would prefer 4 x 30 mins podcasts rather than one long one. Easier to track and digest. Other podcasts I've enjoyed listening to have contained a mixture of scripted and conversational type sections. Some people are really good at the unscripted podcasts. Me? If I tried it, it would just be an incoherent rambling mess -
I'm very happy to start a feedback thread for Thomas P who I've just traded my Warrior Signature for his Mike Lull. Good communications and very easy to deal with. Trading can be harder than selling as you don't have "cash in the bank" before you ship and its all done on trust. Thanks again Thomas. (The only problem was the courier signed for delivery of the bass himself and left it on the doorstep! Doh!)

Currently using a Sadowsky internal pre that I'm liking. I wasn't sure if I would like the boost only bass and treble but it is very useable. I've also started to like having a tone control that works in both active and passive mode. Slightly off topic..... traditional / usual layout of controls running from the neck towards the bridge would be vol, balance, treble, mid then bass. I've noticed a number of manufacturers have moved to bass, mid then treble....any logic to this or am I missing something?

Hi there ZombiPyrate. Welcome to Basschat and congratulations on learning to play the best instrument Have fun with it and I found the quickest way of learning is to get with others to play a few tunes. Scary to start with but mucho fun.
