1. Ah yes, I remember watching that one. Still enjoying it? Probably a silly question.
2. Are you buying one as well RK? Great bunch of guys and so easy to talk to. Spoilt for choice when it comes to facing woods.
3. Once upon a time there was a little boy. One day he went to a big city for the day. When he got there he found there was a big toy factory. When he went in he met a very nice man called Chris. Chris said he would love to make a new toy for the little boy. So Chris took the little boy to his special cupboard and showed the little boy his wood stock. The little boy chose a piece with lots of wavey bits in it and a lovely red colour. The rest Black walnut body Figured red wood facing maple neck 16.5mm string spacing Lined fretless ebony fingerboard 33" scale pickups in SDS position Satin finish
4. There's only one guy to go to. Chris McIntyre has his workshop right beside Hibs football stadium. Brilliant work and honest. Nationally renouned too. http://www.mcintyreguitars.com
5. This makes it a bit clearer from the man himself http://youtu.be/MS02YaLw1uM
6. I couldn't give the exact gauge it would have come with originally but in my experience most basses come with 45s (105-45). You can put any gauge you want on a bass. You might have to alter the setup with some lighter gauge strings, or heavier for that matter. I have 95-35 on my Hohner B2a at the moment and I did have to do a setup on it for those. It is essentially the same bass as the Jack but without the body.
7.
I have pictures of the wood I choose. I am sure no one wants to see though
I would be very, very unhappy if you showed your wood. As unhappy as i am with my Finn that i haven't stopped playing since it arrived last week. Know what I mean, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no mowah.
8. Nice job. I've just started using one of these on an ACG and getting to grips with it quite quickly. Some good tones from it.
9. I should be adding a Scott Devine model to these pages sometime in May/June. Fretless ebony fingerboard and figured redwood face.
10. I bought a used iPad on ebay and it has been great. Fraction of the original price too. Lots of add-ons available too. I'm going to look at the Alesis iDock II when it's available. It has all the ins and outs you need and you just slide the iPad into it and it is connected. Software is affordable too.
11.
But, speak to the man, not the customer Peter
The customer will only tell you how brilliant the basses are. I just emailed Alan today and he replied within 2 hours.
12. You won't go wrong with one of these. Another fan here.
13. I just bought Adam's beautiful ACG Finn single cut. Transaction sorted within an hour and the bass was shipped out quickly. Very well packed and no problems whatsoever. Many thanks Adam.
14. Just back from a visit to Overwater and look what was waiting for me.
15. Standby
16. I have used flats on my Status S2 fretless and that has a lovely warm full bodied tone. Having said that it has rounds on it at the moment. Flats on a wooden board I am not so keen on.
17. Paul just bought my lovely NS CR4M. Prompt payment and excellent communications. He was also very patient in working round my mistake with delivery and some niggley problems with the delivery company. Pleasure dealing with you Paul and enjoy the bass.
18. I'm sure if you take it to a good quality luthier he/she should be able to sort something out, certainly going by the pics on the Bass Gear site.
19. You could try Status Hot Wires halfwounds. They give some of the brightness if rounds but feel like a flat and don't mark the board.
20. That would make a great serial number.
21. Osteopath on call.
22. I would agree with JTUK regarding the Trace Elliot. I have a Commando 10 and it is fine for practice but not for gigging. I once used it for a gig with trad folk musicians and it didn't cut through that.
