Something a little different on a bass. I used two phased loops in the Flashback delay to create a drone and played the bass with the Ebow over the top of the loops.

Next is into sanding and finishing. Martin is just finishing the profile of the back of the neck first. All paid for now so not long.

Now the excitement starts. Work is coming on apace. Quilted mahogany front and ash body.

@snorkie635 Build times are certainly quicker. I've never got on well with filter pre amps either and already having experience of their instruments it was the best choice.

Martin assures me the woodwork is coming on well.

I am privileged enough to have commissioned a new build with Overwater. My first was a Scott Devine Signature in 2014. This one will be a headless Progress with some custom options. I like a 16.5mm string spacing and Chris has been able to source a Hipshot bridge/tuner system for it as their own bridge/tuner is specifically 18mm spacing. Bridge pickup will be 30mm from the bridge and a flat back to the neck, which I find very comfortable. First pic through is the face wood, quilted mahogany. How good is that going to look with a finish on it?

Something a little different. This is how I use a bass guitar and some rather lovely effects.

Just had delivery of Andy's Ibanez GWB 20th Anniversary bass. Very good condition and well packed. Communications with Andy were excellent with prompt replies. Very agreeable person to deal with so comes highly recommended. Thanks Andy, I'm going to enjoy this bass.

The bass/cello bit is something of a misnomer. The NS Omni bass used to be called the Bass/Cello but was renamed. These strings are bass guitar scale strings but have a rope core as oposed to the solid core on BG strings. That gives a slightly different tone to them. Never tried tuning in fifths so can't advise on that one. I find they give a much better tone, for my ears anyway, than the stock strings that come with the bass. They are certainly not floppy but have a comfortable tension. They are very expensive.

If you do try one don't be put off by the strings. I struggled to get on with the stock strings, D'Addario Chromes I believe. Once I changed them to the NS strings that made all the difference.

The Ibanez UBs are lovely basses. Double basses they are not. However, you can string them with NS Bass/Cello strings (Omnibass). They have a rope core, the same as real DB strings. I also put my 805 through a 3 Sigma DB IR. The combination of the two gives something towards the sound of a DB but they will never sound exactly like one. I have owned an NS CR before but I prefer the sound from the Ibanez. I just miss the 3/4 scale. They are quite light as well so useful if travelling with it. The stands are very good quality as well.

I have three presets of my own recipe which appear to be corrupted. Every time I try to select them the Helix Floor just freezes. Rebooting brings it back to life again and all the other presets work fine. When I try to select these presets in HX Edit same result. I'd like to delete them altogether but there doesn't seem to be any way of doing this. Right clicking in HX edit doesn't have an option to delete. Anyone any ideas on how I might do this?

Can anyone recommend someone who can repair the mini USB on my KMI Soft Step 2. It has broken of the circuit board and I’m assured by KMI it is repairable. I have the schematics for anyone who can do the job. I have one local guy to try this week but would be happy with some backup recommendations. I’m in Scottish Borders so happy to travel to Edinburgh or Newcastle.

I put one of these Gotohs on my four string fretless. It fitted fine and has done a good job.

They can make you one with a bowable neck.
