  1. Daryl, you are an absolute inspiration to me. I too value the work I've put in over many decades and the money I've invested and I don't work without I get paid. Not only are you living proof that age doesn't have to stop us working but you're so damn cool as well
  2. Weekly Bandeoke residency last night. First use of my HB short scale. It sounded amazing I have to say. Probably a lot to do with the incredible sound I've found through the Source Audio Ultrawave to be fair
  3. Oh no. This is terrible news.
  4. Hi this looks really nice, however I don't understand the part of the advert where you say "It's a great bass but I don't need two!"
  5. Just looked these up. Bax has them for 60 quid but claims they should be 300. Can this be right?
  6. I live in north east Somerset and used to gig with a Portsmouth based band. If the music and the people are right the distance doesn't matter.
  7. Lovely. I do like a bit of droneage
  8. After owning this pedal for a little while now, I finally used it successfully at a gig last night. Up until now I'd been hamstrung by not understanding the editor and so relying on patches made by others which I then couldn't tweak to suit my needs So what changed? I found this video . It completely demystified so much of the editor that I was able to build and modify a series of patches, all of which I employed yesterday to great effect. I hope some other befuddled Basschatter finds it useful

  10. Theo Katzmann in Bristol. One of the best gigs I've ever been to. D I Joe on bass, musicianship from everyone was entirely off the charts, and he's such a great songwriter. Truly wonderful
  11. I think @admiralchew has won. Can we close this thread now.
  12. Gorgeous. Like you I've been binge buying lately so can't afford to even look at this. But I am ..
  13. I wish you were selling it twice. I'd be on my way to Tenby right now.
  14. Never felt the need to change the pickups so I honestly can't say. Some people who have stronger views on these things change them without trying them. I've never had a problem with the parts on HB basses. Funnily enough I was thinking about this in relation to the Sandberg I mentioned earlier. The finish is bubbling and peeling off one of the tuners - I noticed it on Friday - never had anything like that on my 'cheap' basses.
  15. Bought this here a couple of weeks ago. It's the lightest, fastest HB jazz I've ever played. Oh and the shell pink finish is really lovely. I gigged it this weekend. The previous gig I had used my Sandberg California - a truly beautiful instrument to play. I have to say there was absolutely no drop in quality. None. Not in sound, feel, balance or playability. Anyone trying to convince me that price is any indication of quality, or 'you get what you pay for' has their work cut out I'm afraid.
  16. Used to do all my gigs through Eden amps at one time. The Nemesis 650 head which I sold, and I have an 8x10 450 combo which is too big for my car! Really special amps. I wonder if this is a similar but in a more portable package.
  17. I built this board. I had a top bar and sides left over after fitting a power bar to my 60cm board. So I added a couple of bits of batten some velcro and a couple of bolts for feet and presto! The Harmonic Booster is at the end, the comp and octaver are first everything else is in the loop of the X5.
  18. Extraordinarily good bass. Very good price. GLWTS
