2.
The mystery only deepens! When I say "absolutely", I mean that its sentimental value to me would put it's price tag far above what I expect anyone would be willing to pay for it.
Keep us posted, I love Aria guitars so am interested in this detective story! Know what you mean about sentimental value, I was only teasing.
3. Sorry guys been out. Yep new battery, it's just really hot. There's a little dial for winding back the input gain on my wireless which I do when putting an active bass through it after using a passive. I can't turn this low enough! The low battery is a crackly farty distortion - I've heard that one- this is a big wet fart on the loud low notes. It just overrides any input on any amp, unless the volume is down really low.
4. Thanks for that, I've printed it off and I just show it to my OH whenever she tries to imply I might have a bit too much gear!
5. I'll have enough when I never see another bass that makes something odd happen deep inside me. It never ends though, I don't like the look of the Bongo for instance but there was a blue one for sale on Basstalk a couple of weeks back and when I saw it's picture a little bit of wee came out. Now I want one.
6.
Hmm, that doesn't seem quite right. Is the bass active?
Yes it is, the online bumph talks of a nice 'growl' when it's turned up but this is pure nasty farting distortion. You think there could be a fault?
7. When you say 'absolutely' not for sale?
8. Anything here that helps?
9.
I personally dont have one but ive always really wondered what people fill them up with..im guessin people will have compressor, tuner and head but i just look at pictures and dont have a clue what the other stuff is...so What have you got in your rack/ what would you recommend or discourage someone to get?
Behringer V - Amp, big fat stereo graphic and until recently a power amp. I swapped the amp it was a 500w power amp (the v-amp being used as a stereo pre) but it didn't push out enough ooomph for me so I bought an Eden Nemesis which shines it's lovely blue light out of the bottom of the rack. I've got a space left but don't know what to buy, something with green flashing lights would be nice. Couldn't care less what it does just green would balance the other colours.
10. My OLP musicman copy is a bastard to whatever you put it through. I'm sure there's something wrong with it. You turn the gain off at the input stage and it still distorts. I've never had to turn a bass down to nearly off to get it to play without distortion. Still it's a beauty to play if not to look at.

Clock

Have I got a set up menu that covers my clock or is the whole time out? Or am I very late for work!!
12. Often the only difference is a better quality bass feels nicer, (I'd rather hold the neck of my stingray than anything else one might consider wrapping their left hand round, for instance), stays in tune better and should last longer. I've got some cheap as chips basses that sound gorgeous, it's what you're happy with.
13. You have pm, erm, 'dude'.
14.
Yeah I have got bits of it, I just cat seem to make out for certain what is being played on other parts. You could always try tabbing it on power tab or guitar pro which is a lil brain numbing if you are doing an entire song.....but f course you are onlydoing a small it. I'll leave it with you
I have a sneaky download of guitar pro at work so i'll play with that. It's bloody low in the mix that bass line though isn't it? Right - really gotta go, see you later.
15.
Awesome! Thanks dude! If needs be I can always send youthe song, pm me if you want to send your email addy.
Ive got nearly all the intro but have to go to work so won't finish it yet. One thing I need to know which you might be able to help with is a link to somewhere to create TAB online - I handwrite it all at the mo and that's so stoneaged. if I could tap it onto a template it'd be easy to e-mail you. This will only be my best guess mind! But I will get it close.
16.
Haha some of us can't afford that luxury.
Believe me there's only one that cost over £400 and it's taken me since 1984 to assemble a really quite modest selection. Mind you being on these fora doesn't help does it? I want a new bass every day visiting here.
17. I'll have a go - I'm teaching a guy a song a week at the mo' and need to improve my tabbing skills. Give me a day to find the song and the time!
18. Goodness me - only allowed one choice? Today's rehearsal I'll be using OLP 5 string. Monday (different band) I'll choose either the Aria semi ac, the musicman or the Shaftesburybacker. In the studio the Ariapro2 , bass lessons I carry around my Thunder 1. The fun of collecting basses is choosing which one to use - surely!
19. I'd say £130 for a Thunder 1 = good price, £150 = fair price, over that a bit too much really. The Aria is a beauty, I have it in red and it plays like a dream. Anyone ever sees a fretless version of this please give me the heads up!

22.
Welcome again, It won't take you long to get up those ranks and not be a newbie!
I suppose just aimless replies like this will boost my rating!
23. Hello everyone, I've completed the move from bassworld to basstalk and now I'm here. First up thanks to all those beavering behind the scenes to salvage the wreckage of BW and I'd like to add my admiration to all those who have said how much they appreciate the amount of hard work that has gone into this. You can rely on my support. Lets build BC into the true heir of all that was so great about BW, I shall be recommending it wherever I see a bass player you can be sure of that.
24.
Over the past 18 months a number of people have posted some really nice commenst in my feedback thread. It will be such a shame to lose these. I have retrieved these from BT and would like to put them into a consolidated comment post unless anyone has any objections, or indeed wants to post again.
I'd like to post again to say OBBM is the finest person to deal with and deals nothing but the finest in cabling.
