1. Just bought two powered monitors from http://basschat.co.uk/user/367-steve/ A fine person to deal with. Bent over beckwards to ensure prompt delivery, excellent packaging and all as described. Thoroughly recommended.
2. Very interested in this as the shoulder and neck pain I've been suffering lately have me considering quitting. As it is I have to factor in a shiatsu treatment after each gig which is an expense I could do without.
3. Bugger that's a long way away. Postage would be quite high I'm guessing.
4. I'll offer the £160 just as soon as I get the nod from the rest of the band who will be in bed right now after a late gig last night.
5. It's not that no one's interested - it's the Edinburgh thing I'm afraid (Not, I hasten to add, that there is anything wrong with the fair city merely the distance from Somerset.)
6. I had it the other way about. I'm in a band based a long way from home but the drummer is simply the best and I'd travel wherever I had to in order to work with him. Anyhoo we had the line up sorted all bar the sax. Organised audition for this guy, I drove two hours there for his audition and not only did he not turn up he didn't bother phoning. He lives about 10 minutes from the audition. I told the others there and then row him out. If he can't be bothered to come to an audition he has serious reliability and commitment issues but I was out voted and made the trip again another day so he could try out once more. Long one short: he refuses most gigs we get offered bitches about learning new songs, turns up late and moans about the money all the time. Aren't people great?
7. Bump for a good bloke, honest as the day is long etc
8. Have a bump on me. These are just the best amps. Mine has done massive spaces with everyone else in the band going through our PA and the Trace master volume set at about one and a half. A beast of an amp and a great sound. This is a good price too.
9. Fascinating thing for me is how angry some people get at the suggestion they shouldn't drink. Screams alcohol problem to me.
10. My band don't rehearse but I am in the same boat at gigs. They all like a drink, I mean really like a drink, and being an alcoholic I don't touch the stuff. Sadly they play better when sober but enjoy themselves less. Of course like many other people they are fooled into thinking they play better after a few drinks but being stone cold sober I can tell that actually they don't they just feel better about how they play. A subtle but important distinction.
11. A couple of questions. Are you talking about turning up for gigs or rehearsals and gigs? What are the dates? My band are taking a break as the drummer is having a baby but I have some other commitments, so just wondering if they clash.
12. It's actually hugely difficult to find a band that ticks all the boxes. You could end up sticking to your guns and never playing a gig again! I always seem to end in a band with at least one member who doesn't pull his/her weight or sours the atmosphere with their attitude. That's something I'm prepared to shrug and accept - to a point. But musically, well, I couldn't imagine playing songs I hate. I love music far too much for that. The only exception might be if I lost my job and there was a band paying insanely well. Even then I would do it only as a temporary measure. Playing music you despise would poison your love of playing.
13.
PM'd, I bought a Boss tu3 tuner last week, so if you'll sell without the tuner with a reasonable price adjustment I'll take the rest off your hands. I've got to come from Birmingham to pay and collect so that's nearly a tank of fuel I shall have to factor in to the price, lol. P.S .... If you don't want to delete the tuner I'm still interested, PM me.
Replied. Everyone else looks like it's sold.
14. Thank you all for the comments. It's such a thing of beauty so lovingly put together it'd be a shame to break up the family. And as for pricing everything individually.... But I'm not in a huge hurry. I need the money but I have anticipated the debt somehat so I'll wait before I break it all up, someone may be looking for the complete board, I know I was overjoyed when I found it, and a couple of other people were interested at the time so I'll let it hang around in one piece a little longer.
15. I fully intend to make a donation to basschat when this sells so in a way you'll be doing the whole community a favour by snapping it up. In a way this makes it an entirely sefless sale. Almost an act of charity.
16. Now SOLD> Purchased this from fellow Basschatter ryancowell25 but sadly I need to fill my car with petrol so have to sell. Pedaltrain flight case and board with EBS pedals including EBS Micro bass, Multi Comp, Bass IQ, Uni Chorus, Octabass, Wah One and Valve Drive. Also power supply, all cables to link the pedals, heavy duty velcro oh and there's a Boss tuner. The Valve drive I took off as my big feet and poor eyesight made it hard to find but it'll fit right back on with a bit of manouvering. To be honest it's not been used that much since I bought it and I'm only selling because I need to raise some money. I know it's worth a lot more but I will accept £750 I'd hate to split it up as ryancowell25 did such an amazing job of putting it all together and it is a thing of beauty. You of course could buy and sell off the bits you didn't need. I live in North east Somerset (half an hour from Bath and Bristol) but I'm gigging down in Portsmouth in a couple of weeks, driving to Dorset tomorrow, Reading a week on thursday and happy to meet somewhere near these locations or you can come round and try before you buy. It's heavy so postage might be a bit prohibitive, but let me know if you want a quote for delivery. Any more photos or info just shout.
17.
from 7 and the ragged tiger - shadows on your side
Thank you...
18. I think I might expand this and do an hour 'bass special' for the station. There's plenty of airtime given to guitarists and singers but never enough exposure to the great bass players. I sense a new thread coming on. It could easily turn into a series, I mean there's an hours worth of Jamerson, Macartney, Babbitt and Entwhistle alone and that's just four off the top of my head from one decade.
19. God but you guys know your stuff.
20.
Keeping on the 80s theme, Mick Karn has to make an appearance.
Oh without a doubt - nice one.
