  1. That's how good that bass sounds 😀
  2. And the winner is............
  3. @neepheid at the Bash
  4. Ooh. I hope so.
  5. Seconded. No possible reason to buy anything more expensive
  6. Thank you that was wonderful. Really enjoyed it
  7. We've had a monthly gig for a while now. Last Sunday of the month at a nice venue. Only problem is no one ever turns up. We play to the bar staff and a couple of regulars. It's been a depressing experience for all involved and we've been waiting for the axe to fall. Finally it fell.
  8. Typical. Just as I stop buying basses.
  9. What does it look like?
  10. What is it, what does it do?
  11. I approach these situations as if I'm auditioning them. Which when you think about it is true. You wouldn't join a crap band would you? The resultant aura of supreme confidence tends to make them desperate for you to join.
  12. Never have I played through a better cab. Don't delay folks...
  13. One of the drummers with whom I often work, is not just a great musician but also has a great ear. He and I share a liking for similar sounds. So when I hit 'that' sound, the one I really love, and I glance over and he's clearly hearing it too, I take notice. These moments always seem to happen when I use a 1x15 cab and a big old style head. The last time this happened I had bypassed the complexities of the preamp and used a simple preamp pedal instead. The Joyo series is my favourite for this. American Sound, Californian Sound, Oxford Sound - they're all great. I was pondering why this should be. The conclusion was that the bottom end is less big and booming - these are after all g****r pedals - and the mids seem tighter, more pronounced. All of which is to say the sound sits better in the mix. None of the above applies in my reggae band mind.
  14. We graced a huge sports bar last night. Palpable sense of menace in the air, drunken, broken nosed, tattooed football fans wandering into the playing area to chat with the singer during songs, people asking for Pink Floyd tunes (we're an Irish band, whistles, mandolins, cajon etc) and one guy offered to take over as our bassist. I nearly let him.
  15. Superb pedal this. You'll struggle to buy a better, more versatile pedal at this price.
  16. I hear you.
  17. Never played through this, however the Lekato brand has never let me down and I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything they produce.
  18. Interesting discussion @Reggaebass and @SumOne As I get older I find myself craving what, for want of a better word, I call authenticity. I speak not of composition but more of the sound. Real instruments played live in a ratty old studio. For reggae and some other musical genres, it's a vital part of the experience
  19. Sounds like you've been really unlucky.
  20. Yep. In a heartbeat
  21. Just plug em in and they charge
