I bought Mike's DHA VT-2 Twin EQ. Did the deal on Sunday night, pedal arrived on Tuesday, very well packaged and in excellent condition. All very straightforward and friendly. Great bloke to do business with. Fantastic pedal too!

+1 for the Zoom H4n. I've been using mine regularly for a couple of years now to record rehearsals & gigs, to capture ideas I have when I'm playing around at home (without having to fire up all the studio gear), and for work (recording radio interviews). Very dependable and versatile - there's a 4 track recorder with effects tucked away in there too.

I sent them an American Deluxe P bass scratchplate to copy. Found them great to deal with and very helpful.

I bought this carbon fibre bow to play with my NS EUB: http://www.djmmusic.com/p-54-lgchen-carbonfibre-weave-french-double-bass-bow.aspx A steep but enjoyable learning curve. Obviously it's important to get strings that respond well to the bow or you'll cause yourself no end of unnecessary frustration.

I was back there again on Wednesday to pick up the Super Twin I ordered 2 weeks ago. Carried it back to my house just under a mile away (which was a bit ambitious - 'lightweight' is a relative term). Won't have a chance to run it at gig volume for another week, but even just ticking over at neighbour-respecting levels it sounds great. Big thanks to Alex, Bobby and team.

I was there on Tuesday. Had a play through a Retro Two10 and a Super Twin. Put in an order for a Super Twin the next day.

Back in the 70s I remember 'no breadheads' being the default line in the Musicians Wanted ads in the Melody Maker

Sounds like a good plan to me. Personally I think the VT Bass sounds better going straight into the power amp anyway.

I've used mine straight into the effects return of my amp in the past with satisfactory results, so I think you should be fine.

I bought Rob's Idiotbox Blower Box. Beautifully straightforward deal, great comms. Met up with him for the handover - what a nice bloke. Another model BC transaction.

Bought a Markbass LMII from Liam. Lovely straightforward deal - met up face to face. Very happy with the amp. Great guy to deal with.

The CM-2 is my most recent acquisition, replacing a modded Bad Monkey. I prefer it - more responsive and versatile. I use it in a loop with the B3K, blending with my clean signal and then going into the Bearfoot. On its own the Bearfoot is set to provide some light, always on OD - just adds a bit of thickness and warmth with a pronounced bump in the mids. When I kick in the CM-2 in front of it, it sounds and feels like a valve amp being pushed a bit harder, but still cleans up with a lighter touch. Then if I turn on the B3K as well, it gets really gnarly, but still with good articulation. Very happy with this set up.
