you could try a very simple modification which would involve a bit of re-wiring and add a small 2 way selector switch to swap the pup configuration from parallel to series which i am informed would change the cleaner sound of the jazz to more of a P thump

Covers bands - how do you agree on new songs?
steve-bbb replied to thepurpleblob's topic in General Discussion
sort of democratic decision - but whatever any band chooses its down to whether the singists are comfortable singing a particular song we will occasionally change keys if it is just a simple issue of register for the singists but always try and stay within 2 (3 maximum) semitones of the original our band recently pick 'for once in my life' for the 'to learn for next rehearsal list' but i did insist that i would only do it if everybody else was going to put the effort to make it work 100% as whilst it is not technically difficult to play it is nonetheless a bit of a memory tester remembering all 60+ different bars -
Which of these would you choose?

buy a squier P and a wizard/hotrod plenty change left over (in fact it would be about a 50/50 split between your bass GAS and Mrs B's retail therapy) win win situation no? -
The thing is, which J? The fat, authoritative Moving Pictures J, or the fizzy flamenco-propelled mess he's been using recently?
the chunky one of course
One of their best tracks IMO... but I'm not a fan of the Wal/Superwound elastic bands combo Jazz or Rick for me please Ged!
yes yes yes get the J oh and the clippers

dont you just love them ive been fiddling with the GLORIOUS OM RIFF for a while but despite getting all the right notes i always seem to bugger up the odd count where it turns around ... until this evening ... i just turned the position inside out and changed the position and fingering completely inside out to how i usually previously played it and the time/count just fell stright into place without even thinking about it http://youtu.be/ASoUUKzgCG0
Sorry. I can't see anywhere that it says you'll have to pay.
it dfoesnt actively say but if you run a group page you will have already noticed for some time now that you cannot promote news feeds 'fully' without paying to 'reach a wider audience' there was a time having a band page was quite handy to promote gigs to all you followers/likers but now they are increasingly restricting that ability - the inevitable conclusion will be that such services will eventually be 'premium' account holders only

anyways ... why not use a band name thats already out there? as long as they are not too geographically close shouldnt be a problem (there are at least five or six of our band name around the country we had a quick squint at their interwebs and reckon we shouldnt collide with them at all) edit - you could use the same name but then use a domain name for website that incorporated your band name and your area to try and eliminate any possible confusion
Yes I DO know that and I would have put one over the 'i' but it wasn't available in that font. Thhpp!!
Ťhhhhïïïïïïïïïïïïïïääääääääääärrrrrrrrrrrþþþþþþþþþþþþþþþþþþþþþ
Shame it's not a metal band, then you could be called Road Kill. It would have to be like this, obviously: Yes, I'm bored. Where's Santa got to?? Edit: And it's been taken... about five or six times!
Tsk tsk tsk Any fule kno that metal names must contain at least one umlaut
Suffice to say that our version of Beck's Sexx Laws, monumental as it was, didn't do it for the audience.
you obviously didnt play the right retirement do ... http://youtu.be/A_WAvi4ikCU
I wouldn't have picked Duran but as a compromise that is the one song that I quite like...
no the song about the river? i hope its planet earth ... much more fun to play
I like a jumble up as long as they are good songs so do most people, its OK doing a great Motown* set in a Motown* venue or justa few Motown* songs in a set but try it at a party and 90% of the room will hate Motown* *insert genre of choice here.
i would beg to differ there old chap - we always get a really good response from the motown stuff we do and not just from the old 'uns who are old enough to remember it first time around
Hahhah. It's a full on rock version
that reminds me - weve been asked to do a wedding in january and they have a couple of requests - one of which is possibly the most aweful cringeworthy song ever written arranged and recorded - so we are going to do a slightly more upbeat kicking 'p!nk' style version of it

oh bejeezus its on the radio right now
... Let it go: 'Frozen' soundtrack. and MANY others....
it was all going so well.... right up until the very last track
