3.
Sorry, it's still in Falkirk, and will be for the next week or so. It would have been great if you could play it at a gig with 5 hen parties though!
indeed would have made for some hilarious photos of the purple bass getting mobbed by drunken laydeees

10. nice shape unyewsual the grain on the elm looks very nice and the natural hue has come up very warm looking whats the verdict on the elm with regard to tone? does the body ring smoothly when you hit the E and hold it by the top horn?

15. i just gave one of these away to a mates local recording studio please be aware!! if it has not been used for some time that there is an electrolytic capacitor in the voltage control side of the circuit which can lose it's polarity - if you plug a 9v battery into it there is a good chance you might fry the capacitor in the voltage regulation part of the circuit - you need to bring the voltage up very slowly and gradually over 48+ or so hours from a trickle to the full 9 volts having said that... if you do fry the capacitor - like someone i know did - they are easily replaced and the replacement can be a modern equivalent as it is not in a part of the circuit which will affect the tone
16. im pretty sure it was the squeak from my amp being picked up by the singists mics who were all looking at me and pointing like its my fault!!! its only the second time ive gigged the pesky thing and wasnt really expecting it at all as never noticed it on my boxer65 at reasonable practice volume levels
17. this .... is a very interesting story but the writing style is about as exciting as the instructions on a pack of prescription medication so maybe try this one instead... i liked this one too ...
18. nobody experienced squealing black nylons?
19. ok not sure where to put this thread but this folder seems as good a place as any So .... i recently bought some black nylons - and coincidentally i also bought a set of rotosound trubass black nylon wounds adn this is the cause of my woes not gigged them before so decided to give it a run this afternoon (on a squier fretless vmJ) the squeak from the strings (both left and right hand) was causing some serious whistling and feedback!! - initially i had flanger on and the settings were a bit much so wound it down and that seemed to stop it - however every time my fingers caused a squeak on the strings the bloody thing would howl like mad - im guessing somehow the mics were picking up the initial squeak - i thought it might have been the flange or chorus accentuating it so turned them of but to no avail anybody had any similar problems with flat black nylon wounds? must admit never had anything even remotely like this with steel or nickels
20. what is the real dilemma here? is it that you feel the playing on the final recording is not indicative of your style and in particular your standard of playing? is the playing significantly below your standard and therefore likely to affect your reputation as a bass player? - will it likely have an effect on any future offers of work? - will it have any significant impact on your fiscal status? if not to all these then why worry the bottom line is... it's the bottom line - most punters buying it will be listening to the words and tunes and only a few picky musos like us lot would know or care about the difference anyway
21.
Now do this for anything you can imagine going wrong at the gig!
what about when 'the song about the girl and the car' goes bad? edit - on a serious note some of this might be useful http://www2.hull.ac.uk/administration/pdf/HSafety-Guidance%20on%20the%20use%20of%20marquees.pdf https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/pdf/business-healthsafety-safe-outdoor-events.pdf http://www.noda.org.uk/archive/GuidanceforriskassessmentofexposuretoentertainmentlightingV1May2011.pdf http://www.soundadvice.info/amplifiedlivemusic/casestudies.htm#outdoor
