It’s still there man, GASing away for a nice Jazz…but I’ve also been eyeing up a few other basses that I need to go and try – G&L L2000 Shocker that there are no Warwicks in Birmingham! I know there used to be loads in the old Sound Control, oh well. no probs, let me know how you get on. Mine isn't going anywhere at the minute.
2.
Never watched Father Ted....but weirdly enough, when I was trying to figure out what the hell you were on about.... I did think of a fridge.
Then the next logical thing to do .. is watch some fr ted.
3. Im still on the night shift with new baby. I think I teased you with a father ted quote the other night. I will be back at work next week and can fire random things at people during work time. The original answer was fridge. I usually have a bit of Johnny Cash on in the background, just in case.

Tried Reverb today and City Music just around the corner. No Warwicks at all!!! Infact they only had about 12 basses in total, but a few Laklands and a couple of cracking Fender re issues, one of which was a beaut. How is your gas this week benwhiteuk?
5. I have one of these and paid a lot more for it. It is the best bass I have ever played, that's why I bought it. This is a wonderful buy in my opinion.
6.
I put mine in as soon as I arrive at a gig and leave them in until I get in my car/van to go home, can't be too sure when the drummer is going to crack his snare
By the way? What was your favourite humming noise?
7. It's a Father Ted reference. I think the original answer was probably a fridge.
8. Yes in a word. Also the same applies to Pool but not the spanish guitar or piano.
9. I am tempted to ask at this point what everyones favourite humming noise is?
10. I would imagine Im happy with about 10 gigs. On average we probably play 2 hours each gig. You don't have to be Carol Vorderman to do the maths, although it would be nice! Some hot and sweaty gigs with lots of in house lights can deteriorate strings quickly though. At home I use my old jazz and rarely plug it in. The strings have been on since Xmas. Generally I always enjoy the tone of strings when they are a few hours old than when they are new.

12. David Bowie slumped to one knee and receited the lords prayer. I knew then that I may as well pray to my own feet to seek redemption for my sins and those of the rest of the world,
13. I saw them both at the Freddie gig. Everyone was excellent that day ..even Liza Minelli.

15. Did they do Stonehenge?

17.
One of my fave RUSH numbers, it's awesome live.
Small world ... I found myself playing Territories the other day. I love general Geddy lines from the eighties, also the seventies, nineties and noughties.
18. It's nice to see them on the telly. I saw them at The Freddie Mercury gig and they were great. What I'm seeing now is basically the same thing from that day. The same thing happened to The Everley Brothers. Neil Young is GOD. Two shows are never the same.
19. Cradley Heath Liberal Club. Although on a 6 week paternity break we had a wedding booked before I put my mrs up the stick again. I arrived at 7.45 ( rest of the boys had already set up) and promptly bi-passed the sound limiter. (ie found some other plugs). We finished playing at 11pm and I was at home for 11.20 to resume my fatherly duties. That's the beauty of being in a band with 2 other lads for 20 plus years, helping each other out is implicit. Markbass SA450 had about it's 5th gig and I am really happy with it. Trialled my new toy, a Dunlop Q105 Bass Wah. I've used my guitar wah for years but never been totally happy with it for bass. I won the said crybaby for £36 on ebay and it's worth it's weight in gold. Can't wait to pair it with my DHA VT1 I'm expecting soon.
20.
Distortion and wah wah pedals are the order of the day!!! LOL
very good advice! I think a bit of "big bottom" or even "jazz oddessey" might be called for!
21. i started this thread and have just seen it is still going. Shortly after I became the proud owner of an SA450. I have not done anything about a cab yet because Im still sticking it through my old Ashdown 4x10. I don't know when I will either because it sounds fantastic. The amp is superb and seems to be getting a depth and clarity out of the cab I didn't know it had. If it's not broken why try and fix it?

Cheers Ben, I have posted a few picks. Im sure sound control was formerly Musical Exchanges. I'll do a bit of research and try and get to play one next week. I am very genuinely interested. I already have my super jazz with the marcus, something new will be a bonus and a new toy to play with. With a baby a 2 other kids under 7, I am rather busy at the moment but I will do my best to try a thumb next week if possible. I'll keep you posted PM / here or both. Its not as if I'm looking to do anything with my old Jazz other than possibly this anyway. The Jazz is in great nick, a few very minor dings and the G tuner is a little bent after an arguement she has at The Queens Head in West Brom a few years ago. Very minor as you can see from the pics. The D tune Hipshot also adds to the fun. Cheers Matthew.
24. don't bother with any reverb on the mikes . If acoustic drums are not going through a rig ..then the best of british to you.
