14.
I'm selling an NS Design CR4M Electric Upright. It's the one with Piezos in the bridge, plus the EMGs. http://www.nedsteinberger.com/instruments/crbass.php It's in v.good cond. There are a few minor knocks on it, but nothing that affects playability. It's in a soft case, and comes with the stand etc... I don't really use it enough, and I need to buy some other equipment, hence the sale. £900 I live in Harpenden, Herts. How about a trade for this with cash your way?
15.
If you have an Iphone there is a wonderful Real book application called IReal Book. I've downloaded it and used it on a number of gigs and you can change the key too. Every song fits on one screen. Much better if you have an Ipad though. http://irealbook.net/ Jazzyvee
I've been using iRealbook on my iPod for a while, I've now got the iRealbook for Mac and it's saved me hours of work already. I've just sorted about 30 songs for a vocalist in his keys in a matter of a few hours. It's great for learning / practice etc. Not for Windows yet
 16.
They seem light but I can't speak for tension I'm afraid. The website promises info on tension but then doesn't provide any! I don't think they're an especially high quality string (they sell for $129 in the USA http://www.juststrings.com/sps-ss8207-3-4.html). I wouldn't take the risk on the Ampeg to be honest! Cheers C
Ok Chris I'll do some research when I get time.. cheers Keith
 17.
Hiya mate I don't really know a lot to be honest, and I haven't played them. I bought them from Alan (Bassix). They're played by Keter Betts amongst others. Multi-stranded core, good for pizz and arco apparently. They were going to go on my old German beast until a set of Velvets came along, and I've realised that I'm starting to acquire DB strings at a rate significantly faster than I'm ever going to use them. Webpage is at http://www.supersensitive.com/bass.html and it's set SS8207. When I bought them i found a thread on TB that helped me make up my min but I couldn't find it just now (which isn't much help is it!). If you're interested perhaps we could sort something against the bridge? Cheers Chris
I read a bit about them on talbass and they haven't got a great reputation. The Ampeg seems to suit light strings, I was wondering about the thickness and tension?
 18.
What is says above really. Bought on a whim but unlikely to be used Cheers C
Could be interested Chris can you tell me more about them?
 19.
Just pointing to this where I am selling my Ubass, cos it does the EUB thing, innit. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=120863
pm'd
 20. Plastic fantastic! My first guitar was a second hand plastic Elvis 4 string back in '63 Since then I've had a few wooden instruments but a couple of years ago I acquired a Steinberger fretless from '82. My latest acquisition has some kind of plastic body, again from the sixties. I also use some plastic noise boxes, AI Coda, EV SB121, Mackie, Yamaha, etc I'm very impressed with those Cort Curbow basses Go synthetic and save a tree!
 21.
I there just interested if you could tune the bass as 6 string C G D A E B? Regards Antoin
I have considered doing this myself but haven't got round to it yet, the nut might need a little work to accommodate thicker strings.
 22.
This bass is very interesting. What's with the bridge pickup?
The little bridge pickup is for the fretless strings have a look at this cheers
 23.
Are there any strings that do not have silk windings out there please? I'm building a headless EUB and the ball ends will be up at the Nut end. Clearly I won't want brightly coloured silk windings under my fingers...! If they all have windings then I do have a Plan B however but it's not as neat a solution.....! Be greatful for any input, thanks!
Hi Keith, long time no see, you ok? I've got an unused set of NS strings that have no silk at either end. I was going to try them on my Ampeg but the length isn't quite right. cheers Keith
