  1. Had the pleasure of meeting Stephen and selling a double bass to him. Nice chap and great bass player. Hope the bass serves you well Stephen.
  2. Withdrawn for now, will be on loan to a friend.
  3. Hi Mary, approx statistics in old money are 16.5 lbs, 42" scale Eb neck L.o.b. 43 3/4" Upper bout 20" Middle 14" Lower 25 1/2" Ribs 7 1/2"
  4. This has been in storage since moving house 18 months ago. I need the space so it's up for grabs. Quite a loud bass with a chunky neck. Would be great for bluegrass etc. Collect from Grassington near Skipton, or could meet within an hour or so travelling. Trades considered for a Yamaha SLB300, asquare neck tricone resonator, weissenborn, Duesenberg lap steel, arch top Gibsons etc or Atkin acoustic.
  5. I had this up for sale a while ago before moving house. Since then it's had a new bridge and set up. I mainly play my Eminence bass now, so it's time to let it go. Could be up for trades for a Yamaha SLB300, a square neck tricone resonator, weissenborn, Duesenberg lap steel, arch top Gibsons etc or Atkin acoustic
  6. Jay Haide withdrawn for now, I've taken it in to have the fingerboard sorted.
  7. My main reason for selling the Jay Haide is due to the skinny neck. I prefer a thicker neck. If this doesn't sell within the next couple of weeks I'm going to have a thicker fingerboard fitted and keep it.
  8. I also need to sell this old German flat back but not sure what its value is. I'll consider any reasonable serious offers. The Clifton is sadly no longer in my possession.
  9. Just had a query about the vibrating string length so thought I'd include it here approx 103cm or 40 5/8"
  10. I've not tried it with fretless, I don't need to as I prefer playing upright these days.
  11. I mostly play double bass now but on the odd occasion I use a Yamaha SLB I get a good enough sound without the IR's.
  12. I've been experimenting with double bass IR's for some time using a Mooer Radar. I'm not really using it anymore so might consider selling it including a few dozen IR's I've collected.
  13. Think I've over priced this. I'd seen another one sold, they were asking asking 4k but I don't know what it went for. How about £3.5k? I have an old German hatpeg needs a new home too but not sure of it's value yet.
  14. No worries, enjoy!
  15. Yes all is well thanks. We have a 2 year old grandson now and we'd like to move closer to the family.
  16. Hoping to move house soon and need to de-clutter. Fast approaching 71 I'm still doing a few gigs but mainly on my Yamaha. I Probably need to sell 3 uprights. First up is a 2008 Jay Haide, Ifshin Violins, Berkeley. Ca. Lovely red varnish, slim neck. Prefer collection in Harrogate but could possibly meet up within reasonable distance.
  17. Hi Chris, long time no chat. Hope ya'll well. I have dozens of books which I need to move on. Might take a while to list them but I'll put your name on one of the Goldsby books if you like. Hoping to move house soon so need to de-clutter instruments and gear.
  18. For some reason I've got 2 copies of the book, both with c.d.'s, one is new and unused.
  19. I might have it among loads of bass books I need to move on. I'll have a look later.
  20. I think you'll find the sound will improve as the newness wears off the strings
