1.
It looks pretty small but it's deceptive, at about 20"x14" there's plenty of room for a decent sized band to record in there. 2. I'd hate to see 'next day' http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/David-Eden-USA-WT600-ROADRUNNER-Bass-Amp-ex-Demo-/321964763673?hash=item4af6986a19:g:AbYAAOSwT~9Wh8bv
3. I have two, and am toying with the idea of going down to one..
4.
I use a Sei fretless 5 as my main bass and take along another one too as backup. The others are all fretted 5s except for a Sei 6 and I just take whichever one I fancy. Everything's pretty ding-free which is helped by not having any painted ones.
Do you still have the Buzzard?
5.
Is this bolt on or neck through? Any pics from back?
op says bolt on
6. Leicester (Midlands Bash) should be about 1hr 20 mins by car. Last year Tom from Cog Effects came down from Sheffield - not sure whether he's coming again this year
7. My Ergon 5 and EJ4. I had the EJ fretted by Jon Shuker recently and it's such a nice player and so versatile it may just become my main gigger. [Img]http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg580/christopher_brown14/Mobile%20Uploads/20160102_210138_zpsyjsadyuj.jpg" class="ipsImage" />
8. What a lovely looking bass
9.
Staying home tonight while my band is out gigging because I was given an impromptu flying lesson by a car driver while out on my bike a few weeks ago. Might have managed the gig from my wheelchair but not with my left arm in a cast from knuckles to above the elbow.
Wow, nasty! Hope you mend quickly. Happy new year
10. Only one gig booked in for 2016! Our drummer has moved out of the area, so we have a stand in drummer for this gig on the 30th Jan. Not sure what's happening after that 😕 [Img]http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg580/christopher_brown14/FB_IMG_1451586412220_zpstwxvlmfl.jpg" class="ipsImage" />
11. My band's future is uncertain due to drummer moving away so it could either dissolve or have a new lease of life. I'm also hoping to team up with a DJ and play some seriously squelchy synthy bass over his 'ghetto funk' tunes, both in the studio and live. If I'm honest though, I think that bass playing has been overtaken by mountain biking in the enjoyment stakes in the last year - that may bankrupt me,so gotta keep the gas under control!
12.
When doves cry by Prince.
Lifted from John Cage's 4'33
13. Having to take the neck off to adjust the truss rod is pretty annoying. That was a 70s P, thankfully it never really needed adjusting. Both my W&T basses have offset bodies with jack inputs on the edge, so you can't rest it on the floor and lean against a wall/cab when plugged in.
14. Mini RR got a guitar for Christmas and can already play Bob Marley's Three Little Birds - just three chords
15. Peter Gunn theme was the first line I thought to play when I bought my first bass.
16.
How weird, good times is the one I was thinking of :-(
That makes more sense ☺👍
17.
Chic, Le freak
Really? I wouldn't even regard that as Chic's most recognisable bass line 😞
18. My test is to think whether my Dad would recognise it (he's only really into trad Irish music).. He wouldn't have a clue about Under Pressure or Sunshine of your Love, but would know The Chain instantly. I think I reached the age of 30 before realising that that bass line came from an outro!
19.
This is one of the only tracks (nice though it is)? Cogbill and Jemmott are quoted as the main bassists with Aretha from the 60s/early 70s - though there may be some debate over this...
Tommy Cogbill* played on a lot of the early Atlantic stuff (including Respect and Chain of Fools). Jerry Jemmott played on Think and played the Filmore West gigs. Rainey played on the classic 'Young, Gifted and Black' album. That's the extent of my knowledge on the matter ☺ *that's Timmy Cogbill to you, Blue
20.
Yes Interpol . Agree 100%. .i should've elaborated more . Mötley Crüe / wrathchild / poison etc
In which case I retract my answer. I can't stand that hair metal stuff, but love early/mid 70s glam.
21. Fantastic pedal with a really versatile octave thanks to the filter. Bump for a great pedal ☺
22.
Mr Venom doesn't seem to have any problem… ;-)
Your band did spring to my thoughts 😉
