1. I'd have that J Type in a heartbeat. I like having two pickups and the birdseye maple neck is cool. The first one doesn't do it for me aesthetically. Passive switching just means you can switch between active and passive - handy for tone variation, and a get out of jail card if your battery runs out.
2. I'm no expert but a bit of research suggests that Adobe no longer support certain types of Andriod. I switched browsers to Dolphin and found a sneaky link to the Flash download, and it seems to work. PITA
3. Flat Top is soo cool, he makes ice cubes jealous: http://youtu.be/aCz86qY4udk
4. Starting a thread can definitely be trolling. Had you called your thread "All we need is just another prick on a Wal" - THAT would be trolling
5. Have a look at the Drophead http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/15w-all-valve-drophead-combo-amp?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&gclid=Cj0KEQjw44exBRCu8vfS_bPEtNoBEiQACrt00wgusFtXjoKD_gzuEHA-7pPneNU75AlbsL7wrKBilpEaArdN8P8HAQ

7. I've seen it a couple of times today
8. Great stuff. To me, the two Darkglass ones were the best, and the B3K just pipped it. Disappointments were the Blueberry and the TC. I'd love to hear a Cog Knightfall in this test
9. Northwest Guitars and Rothko and Frost both do nitro paint in cans
10. I change the entire set around once a year
11.
Yet another tyre kicker, do one son.
Lol
12.
my credit card wouldn't go through for some reason but let me take the vanderkley cab home anyway
Now that's good service!
13.
Thanks folks, bass is with new owner now.
So, is the new owner a proper Shagster?
14.
Ah but the real question is were you headlining or support to the puppet show and did you do jazz odyssey?
Hahaha
15.
I've been tempted by a couple - and I'm not a big fan and already have too many basses!!
I wonder whether the OP included your Cora in the stats - not a clone, but definitely inspired by the Jazz bass.
16. They have lots of new material ready - this is just the tip of the Iceberg. Track two is particularly good - a real Gem Hopefully the album will Romaine in the charts for ages ..aaand I'm spent
17. I'm having difficulty envisioning what you mean by horizontal and vertical stripes - can you post some example pics please?
18. Not a monstrosity, but too squat and rotund for my taste. If you wore that on a strap, it would hang in such a way that the headstock was out of reach!
19. If I need to learn a song, I'll usually do it by ear. I found that being familiar with chord tones and chord progressions helps a lot - it makes it easier to anticipate what will come next, and that understanding also helps you to play around with the line a bit later on.
20.
I do this for 99% of my gigs, don't even bother talking an amp. As long as the PA is full range and there is decent monitoring (nearly always the case with metal venues) you're just lugging an amp and cab around to basically have it as a prop on stage.
I think that he meant pedal>power amp>cab
21. Next gig is at Haloween at the lovely Nottingham Contemporary. Lots going on as part of Black History Month http://www.nottinghamcontemporary.org/event/still-we-rise-black-history-month
22. As per above, probably not octave unless you want a synthy tone. LPF is the way to go.
23. Hockley Hustle big city centre charity festival sprwad over about 40 venues: We were supposed to be on at 3:30 We soundchecked at 5.00 The PA dude had many issues, including lack of cables and lack of grace under pressure. Gig turned ouf to be pretty good though and thd later time meant a decent crowd.
24. Lonnie Plaxico's Melange album is probably my favourite album of the genre. This one, Windy City, is quite slap bass, but has superb energy, especially during the solos. What I love about LP's bass playing is that it is soo deep and tight with the rhythm section. I was going to trawl the thread to make sure it hadn't been posted already, but with only three views on You Tube, I didn't bother http://youtu.be/2MXcc5_Ia4s
