It's worth trying the basses out, in case they're constructed in a way that the extra inch doesn't affect playability. I've actually played plenty of 34" basses where the neck felt a mile long because the bridge was too far into the body!

[/quote] Funnily enough a lot of the standard cabs are for sale on GAK and other online stores for noticeably less than I bought my old 104HF for so maybe they have passed the savings onto the customers after all!

Apparently, quality wise they are identical. The difference being the power handling (and possibly volume), and that they use standard speakers instead of neo. They will be heavier. No idea if the sound will be the same, but a lot of people say neo speakers have more prominent upper mids so they MAY not cut through the mix in the same way. I'd still wager they cut above many cabs in their price range though.

In the rare event that I play gigs with other bands I've been really lucky. I've been asked to lend my amp/cab a fair few times in the last few years, but it's always been with plenty of notice before the actual date! By the way dave, was your Matamp ok?!?!

Apparently the new drivers are made to the exact spec of the old B&C ones... And with how passionate Marco is I doubt there'd be any difference!

Never liked Rotos myself so it makes sense why our opinions on the Elixirs differ! I actually quite like the slightly silkier feel to the Elixirs.... took some getting used to but it's much better than the friction burn I'm currently getting from coated DRs!!!

Steve Harris uses flats, they can sound great as long as they're fresh!

I'm pretty sure a few people have emailed them and they've said it wouldn't be possible to update due to the processor power needed for some effects. Would be great though!
