1.
Some dodgy Stranglers covers...still unsure if I like Onslaught's version of Nice n Sleazy or not
Well it's no 'Let There Be Rock'
2. Balamory is on telly \m/
3.
Cool, I'll have to check them out! I'd heard the Juggernaut wasn't so great but I haven't tried one - I think I'll just see how long I can, erm, 'borrow' my brothers Rat before he needs it back Marshall Jackhammer? If I'm not careful I'm going to get guitar pedal GAS on top of bass pedal GAS
The Juggernaut has been discontinued for ages, searched the net to get one a while ago and when it finally came I was pretty disappointed, sounded nothing like the guitar ones! Lots of people on here use Jackhammers now, they're nice and cheap (about 20 to 30 quid used), and the EQ is pretty versatile and can compensate for any low end loss you might encounter
4. They look like old Atari video game characters
5.
On the contrary. It is always helpful to get opinions from people who like the product and people who dislike the product. What is very unhelpful is when everyone says how wonderful a product is without pointing out its shortcomings, real or imagined. The OP can then take from this discussion what's important to him.
I agree with this. I like to hear a variety of reviews, good and bad, when thinking about getting something new.
6. I found this and the Classic 450 to be lacking in low end too... This was through an RS210 cabinet though so it might not have been a fair test. Bloody loud though! EDIT: Didn't notice any compression when the compression and drive knobs were down either
7. Hi guys, I've decided to move these strings on as I'm probably not going to use a 6 string in standard tuning for quite a while! I've got 3 sets, all brand new in box, haven't been anywhere near a bass! I'd like £22 each for them please, that will include postage. If you want all three sets I'll post them for £60 ................ I've got a 5 string set that came with my Peavey, I think they're nickel wound, not sure how long they were on the bass but they feel and sound like theyve had fair amount of usage. Theyve been on a 34" scale bass with 3 on the bass side and 2 on the treble side of the headstock if that helps £5 posted? ......... I also have a couple of 'Castle' brand strings, nickel wound. These are unused. Ones a .030 gauge and the other is a .125 I'd like £5 posted for these ones Payment by bank transfer is highly preferred, or Paypal gift. There's a link to my feedback page if you wanna make sure im not a massive bellend Thanks for looking!
8. The bass player from The Haunted uses Rat pedals and I actually love his tone so much! Didn't get on with the Juggernaut (bass specific rat) though! Marshall Jackhammers are good too
9. I got some ER20s from DJM music for under a tenner and I'm glad of em. Only used them for two gigs so far so am still getting used to the different sound (very small increase in bass and a little loss of very high frequencies). But already feeling the benefits as my ears aren't ringing at all at the end of the night! Im told 'the real deal' have a much flatter response too
10. I'd totally buy a bass handmade by somebody who can't even string one up.
11. Great price on the TLC! Best compressor I've ever had the pleasure of using
12.
When I first started I remember some kids from a punk band calling me both gay and a fanny tickler for playing fingerstyle
Logical.
13. I didn't like the TC cabs myself, they seemed to have an overly 'scratchy' sort of sound without much in the lower end of the spectrum. Might just have been that they didnt work with my gear/playing style but I really didn't like em
14. I use a .152 for low A on a 35" scale, so that sounds like it might do the trick! Newtone will do you some custom winds though if you ask. Custom lengths too I imagine!
15.
I reckon you *could* use a toffee for a pick though... one of those round flat ones out of a tin of Quality Street.
Imagine the state your strings would be in after though! I'd rather stick to using a pick for toffee.. I had a mate who chewed all his plectrums up. Good way of stopping people asking to borrow one I guess!
16. I like that a lot.
17. Wow a 36.5 scale! That's gonna have a great low B.. Unless you're going lower?? Great shape by the way, that's gonna be a beauty
18. "I dropped the string action artificially low to avoid cutting any string grooves too low when I re cut the grooves to drop the nut action for easy fingering in the lowest frets." ....Huh?
19. I've used a Barefaced 2x12 on a pub gig and it was incredibly loud with a Markbass 500w head. Daren't turn it anywhere near up halfway and that was without PA support! You should be set with one of them! Could always get a matching Markbass cab though! They'll be a bit cheaper, and they're also a very reliable brand with great customer service... The amount of variety is staggering too!
20. Too be fair that bass is way too cool for the guy playing it, who is white as hell
21.
I was just about to post this: I think this is a Yamaha...
It looks like a Yamaha BB to me! I love how he's not even trying to make it look like he's actually playing the song
22. Normally I would say no, but that's a thing of beauty
23. I pick a lot of tricks up from youtube videos. I also like listening to isolated bass tracks to help me learn songs, and to give me ideas on different tones that sound good in a mix (even if they dont sound too hot on their own)
24. The A string on my bass is very very slightly muted compared to the other strings, but I only really notice it if i hammer out an open note really hard. Nothing a decent setup won't fix... That's not on a Rickenbacker though, it's on a Peavey that I bought off my mate for £50 Wouldn't accept that crap from a bass that cost well over a grand! That's pretty shameful.
25.
on my mobile
Haha no I mean, you probably have his address but he doesn't have yours... So making threats over the phone to you would be a bloody stupid move
