1. I LOVE P-Basses, those 2 are awesome, COngrats. Here's a FCS that is on my short list of "Basses that I am dying to buy, don't REALLY need another bass, but I can't stop": It's a '59 NOS. Love the pickguard and the ashtrays, etc.
 2.
I would hesitate to say I like all singlecuts. But my Adamovic Halo is absolutely incredible. It feels amazing, sounds great and is astonishingly beautiful... http://www.adamovic....led%20maple.htm
I agree, looks amazing.
 3.
You're not wrong there. I've fancied a Stealth 2 for ages (as far as i can tell it's a Streamline with a conventional body shape) but i dont have a spare £2K lying around.
And the "Vintage" Series I think, the P-Basses with Graphite necks and his pickups, etc. as well..??!!!! I'm dyin' here. I'm tellin 'ya!!!
 4.
I'm a fan of singlecuts! Here's my beautiful Shuker 7 string tuned to low F#. The last few days had me thinking of selling it, but thankfully after a moment of complete stupidity I came to my senses as Jon and I designed it together. It's a very special instrument.
THAT is one beautiful bass guitar!!! !!
 5.
Dammit yous twos, get a frikkin room already!
We did! I was SPECTACULAR!!
 6. Thanks will do. Ordered Green Thumb from dealer in Colorado, Guitar X. Of course they simply act as an agent/dealer. Warwick got it built fairly quickly, about 2 months IIRC. I guess a Thumb SC 4 would surely make the CS Gallery! The choices, the choices! The natural woods are stunning, but "wax-on. wax-off" I dunno- Maybe a translucent stain, or another high-polish which is done SO WELL..... Ooohh
 7. T-shirts currently on back-order; but I do have RAYBURN UKBC Signature basses, errr, I mean ranges on special
 8.
After much deliberation, I've decided to build my own (-ish!)... http://basschat.co.u...recision-build/
If I had the necessary skills, I'd be in consideration too, but I don't! Also, whether one may like it or not, The 'Fender Custom Shop" marquee is a value at that; it just...is Got a good quote on the 2012 Reverse Jag Borracho too- Don't think that the Dealers don't know they better reduce price if they don't want to sit on 'em! Even with only 30 for the Planet, not that many are willing. I, however, have been told I have an "arrested development" with regard to GAS (do you all know what that is?) as well as a nice chunk of money coming shortly, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to be owning one or the other... Stay tuned!
 9.
This is probably my favourite post of yours of all time, & should be pinned............ though to be fair all the rest of them have been crap!
though to be fair all the rest of them have been crap! Tough Crowd. It's my favorite post of yours, too Dad, but to be fair it's also the only one I've ever read. I've not only had it "pinned", I've had it printed into T-SHIRTS that are available for sale, along with Bass Guitar Straps, and Kitchen Furnishings at my Website: www.AGA-RayburnUSA.com I accept all currencies, Yankee Dollars, British Pounds Sterling, Euros, also will trade for English bass guitars.
 10. Hot topic. Don't mean to get it any hotter, but there are bands that are making millions of dollars/pounds who IMO are not worthy musicians, and I don't like their Music! Which means nothing, just my tastes. Not trying to judge anything! Then- there are a number of Jazz musicians, and e.g Classical guitarists who are accomplished to the highest degree and make next to nothing- Market value. I used to purchase CD's on the cheap by winners of Laureate Guitar Contests, absolutely stunning music, but record sales??? Nope, try Green Day or some such for the millions of records sold, Yes, musicians should be paid, even well-paid gigs amount to little considering cost of instruments 1000's of hours practicing to reach proficiency (You should anyway!) travel, etc. Not a perfect world, and the arts-tough nut. Went with a Dancer once upon a time, she was beautifully trained, ballet et al, gigs? Not much. The analogy to photography is true, same with writers, actors, etc. Many are called few chosen IOW-NOT many gigs to be had. Don't know about Britain, actually tying to get some work there myself (touring-for pay ) but here in a big, hot-shot city like Los Angeles- few gigs to be had that pay a fair amount.
 11.
Never too old for that....Too married, maybe, but never too old...
Haha, too attached to my Sig Other, and therefore... Too TIRED (Demanding Lady, she is!!!)
 12. I'm not so sure that most players think it's OK, it's just kind of a necessary evil; that's the way it is type of thing. Projects spend time, blood, sweat, tears, putting their music together in garages, rehearsal halls, etc. Just BURSTING to get their music/message to the people, who can blame? The brass ring of fame- The $$, the girls, the respect, the girls, the power, the travel, the intellect, the girls, the creative spark, the achievment on one's instrument, the girls.. Why one might even get to be on "Oprah" and I truly hope you're spared that televison show! Whatever the choice, the music biz is TOUGH!!!
 13.
"If you can dream it, we can build it!" lol! Just let me know if there is any way I can assist you in making this a reality. I would love to see this idea come to fruition! Cheers!
Believe me, I'm dreaming, losing sleep more appropriately. I know the vast majority of SC's are ERB's when I saw my 4-string SC, I JUMPED. It's a beaut. Kinda wish 'Wick offered the Thumb SC in a 4-string, but I understand it would not be the majority's preference. And I know the Custom Shop would knock it outta the park! There are so many incredible options to be had- The bass I'm thinking would be outrageous, and as stated, I think the SC Thumb is in my eyes a beautiful bass. All it takes is money & time; one I've got, the other-soon enuff I think!
 14. Is there the "pay-to-play" scenario in the UK? This is a system in which bands perform at clubs, get a percentage of "the door" during their set, objective being to get the band to call their friends/posse to the club, pay $10 to get in, band gets 3-5 dollars, something like that. Whatever an act wants or needs to do to get their name out there has to be fine with me. It's not an issue if an act has bookings, then no matter if other bands play for free. Some claim that this "ruins" it for working bands as the club owners will then look to book acts willing to perform for nothing. What I've learned is that Club Owners want something that will sell drinks/food, bring people to the venue when the right act performs appropriate music. Meaning not Cowboy tunes in a Jazz Club, not R&B in a Goth bar. Find the appropriate venue for the music you're doing, fill the club, sell lots of whiskey; You'll get paid. Or, be a rockstar and fly! away in a Lear Jet! Me- I'm getting too old for all the girls that would undoubtedly THROW themselves at me Anyway....Play for free if you want to. Might get future paying gigs.
 15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8Zvz0JfrNs Covering this tune w/ our own flavor (Female Vox, basic 3-piece Rhythm section etc.) Nice arrangement, diff than recorded version too But check this band out, and Ronald isley is getting it right.
