I think it's a great idea. I only ever take a Nano+ board and all but 1 space is permanently spoken for (tuner, compressor, drive, octave, HPF underneath). The last space gets swapped around to whatever I need for the gig, but that can lead to compromises. Filter / another drive / phaser / synth etc. The HX One would let me keep the board as it is all the time and not have any compromises either. I think the price is reasonable too. I don't mean cheap, but the humble Ibby TS9 now costs £120 with zero R&D need, a TS808 is £170! It's still a lot of money but that doesn't mean unreasonable.

My current favourite is the Source Audio Spectrum. It does everything. It sounds great.

that's right up my street! Thank you.

Do you find your playing limited by your tastes?

I love some repetitive stuff. I find it mesmerising and creates different emotions to more complex music, which I also love. I can easily start playing, eg, 'Good Times' and then find out hours have passed, lost in that trance. It's like my happy place (Ye gods I sound like a hippy! ) -
GuitarGuitar have them on preoder for £249. It's a lot of money, but I don't think it's expensive compared to other things anymore. There's 100% analogue drive pedals for £400+ these days. World has gone mad / whatever boomer / etc

I've had both and kept the BC-1X. I also found the LMB to be a bit hissy and actually a little whiny too. The BC-1X is the best compressor I've ever used, including Cali76 / Empress / DG etc etc etc. It's magic is the multiband approach behind the scenes. It's definitely impossible to get a bad sound from it. It has not volume pumping that many analogue compressors suffer from, especially with high output pickups. It is very neutral sounding. It just works every time and so farm with every bass. I've got vintage output / tone stuff and mad active stuff. That being said, I did like the LMB-3 a lot and if it wasn't hissy / whiny then I probably would have kept it too. But the BC-1X stays on my board, and I'm planning on buying another one for when I don't want to take my board and I don't want to keep pulling it apart.

You'll make more progress with a proper teacher than you will without. It can be frustrating learning stuff that you think you might never use, but split it into 2 sections: academics and art. You'll be frustrated within a month about slow going with proper lessons... and absolutely amazed how far you've come in 1 year. All knowledge is a stepping stone to playing the things you want to play. Do it properly with sight reading and theory too. That does not have to mean orchestral composition or anything so complex! It opens up so many doors. Not limited to TAB, able to work out a good bass part from a piano score. More paid gigs available. Not wading through 50 websites worth of awful tabs to find one that might be accurate. Being able to play every tune in every key without retuning your bass - transposing on the fly is such a useful skill to have for bands if a singer doesn't have a range the same as the original artist. Never overdo it. Many people try to do a couple of hours in one sitting and that's pretty useless. Doing 5-10 mins per day proper practice is the key. Little and often. It's no different to learning any other language, and if you can speak English being one of the hardest and most confused languages on earth, you can certainly cope with music. I don't know what it's like in Ipswich, but where I am we have an educational trust that supplies music teachers to schools and also has the details of private teachers who take both adult and child students. If there's something like that near to you, then give them a call.

Doubt it would make much difference.

Before I got my Waza Airs I was using a simple interface with my iphone, the free version of the Amplitube app and some wired headphones. I had a Line6 sonic port interface, but there are lots on the market. Amplitube is excellent as even the free version allows a song to be imported and then slowed down while keeping the right pitch. Very useful for practice. -
I think it's stunning and if I had the money I would have ordered one already. They'll build anything with any options.

I’m impressed with my OC-5.

Cheaper including travel? How?

I wasn’t taking the fosters. I just much prefer trumpet to guitar for a jazz lead instrument.
-
I quite like it. But I can't help feeling if the keys were replaced with an actual piano and any melody guitar was swapped for a trumpet then it would be an absolute banger.
-
Very little treble / high mids.

It's definitely one of those. They've been mentioning it a lot on IG.

It's a depressing nightmare. Once a year in our village there's a beer festival over 2 days. It raises some money for local charities, there's some village rugby, bouncy castles for the kids etc. It's a nice day out and in the evenings there's some local bands and a bit of a disco. Every year the same very few people try to complain about the noise, call the police (who tell them to not be silly), and moan about it until bonfire night when they set off fireworks and get upset if people complain about them. My suggestion of booking a proper Motorhead tribute so they could have something to complain about didn't go down very well! -
I might start using a pick! Sparkling!

But would they get personal experience of the quality of those local services? In fact - they may have already done that, but wanted those personal experiences as well. There's no way to tell. -

Not to mention that many simple questions are asked because the person doesn't actually know the best way to ask for help. A 13 year old asking "What is the best pedal for rock" has an entirely different view of what rock is compared to a 60 year old who after playing double bass for 40 years has just got his first bass guitar and he caught a clip of Black Sabbath on youtube. There are countless threads on here where a simple question has been answered with another question for clarification - and that has allowed the person asking to better explain what they need. Gaining knowledge is a linear process. -
I never used to use them. Either my cabs didn't have them or I turned them off. But now I've got one in a Barefaced One10T and it sounds much better with it on. No brittle highs, just a more complex and pleasing tone even when I'm using flats on a P with the tone down a bit. So, as per Bill's post ^, I suspect my past cabs just weren't as well designed.

Great idea - we can have a "Please confirm you have read every sticky on the site before posting a question of your own" tick box to demand compliance. Sounds like a great way of growing a community! [/sarcasm mode off] -

So what? Some people want human interaction rather than a search engine. For some people who live alone it might be the only non-work human contact they have that day. For those who work at home as well it might be the only human contact on that day of any kind. It might be extremely beneficial to their wellbeing to even engage with another human on something as boring as a power supply. Asking what you think is an inane question does you no harm at all. But not asking it might do them harm. You seem to be obsessing about this and that is not good for you. People are different. I really don't understand the love for football / baked beans / Jeff Beck / Jaco Pastorius / etc but they make other people happy so that's ok with me. Accept that people are different and let it go. -
AFAIK they are still concentrating on the USA due to supply chain issues. I believe @agedhorse is the man to ask though.
