  1. Is that a readily available clone?
  2. If your friends do that to you then they are not friends.
  3. Wasn't it Billy Joel who binned his long standing band the minute he got a proper hit? I think I saw that on a documentary. Guys like Kenny Aronoff thrilled about playing on a hit then then getting a call from an agent telling them to go home.
  4. Get a worse singer in and tell the current guy that it's an improvement. Then get proper new singer.
  5. I get that. I sometimes think about having my Lionel routed out for a PJ and putting EMGs in it. And then I play it passively and tell myself to not be stupid! Although I do wish I had a pair of Lionels so I could have one with flats and one with rounds.
  6. If I was going to get a TM4 now I would be deciding between an EMG J and MM or an Aguilar J and MM. I love those pickups but I'd be hard pushed to choose. Probably the Aguilar though as their MM is a bit more trad sounding. Either that or I'd have to buy a pair of TM4s!
  7. Don't forget that for a small upcharge Sandberg will put any pickups you want in it. I'm not a fan of their pickups in general but I adore the rest of the instrument so I'm happy to do pickup changes. My TT4 Superlight now has EMG J set and an EMG EQ. I really like Bobby Vega's EMG Jazz sound and since I first heard him I have always put EMGS in jazz types. My Lionel came with the stock P pickup and I had heard the pickup was a bit modern sounding. That proved to be true. So I swapped that for an Aguilar AG4P that I had. I wanted a more traditional mid pushed P sound. The 'berg pickup has too much bass and was too hot for a traditional sound. I debated asking Sandberg to do the pickup change when I ordered it, but as I already owned the Aguilar there was no point in buying another one!
  8. Which clone of it did you get?
  9. Interesting! I did buy the SFT and I like it a lot. But it seems pedals with that sort of sound are now my new special interest / addiction / waste of money (opinions vary) so I'll have a look at that! Thank you.
  10. I’d upgrade the monitors instead.
  11. My TT4 Superlight is excellent. No dive, just very comfy to play. I do play the Lionel more these days, but sometimes I just want that jazz thing!
  12. NOTHING! I don't have a band at the mo so my head is whirling with ideas for originals that I will half write and then abandon!
  13. Should be fine for the nut. Almost certainly need a truss rod tweak though - and the intonation.
  14. I have the original AO. It’s a very good pedal but I do find it surprisingly string dependent. I find it horrible with flats! Great with rounds though. It’s entirely possible it’s just my problem though!
  15. I returned mine to Amazon.
  16. Did you not like it then?
  17. My absolute favourite compressor - even above the other posh ones I used to have. Amazing thing!
  18. Mark Bass really need to spec quieter fans. It's not like it would actually add more than a few quid to the specs. Even going full beans and spec'ing Noctua fans would only add about £10. I really hate it when they cheap out on components like that.
  19. I have 30/32/34 If I'm seated for a jazz gig - it's always 30. If I'm playing with a pick and Fronting / singing then it's 30 or 32. I can swap between those very easily. 34 gets used the least these days, but I do love the tone of my Sandberg so it's not going anywhere, but it is now definitely last in line. I've had 35 and over and I do not find them comfy at all.
  20. I did have TI flats on it for a while, but I developed a nickel allergy so I can’t use them anymore. Much to my dismay. I now have Dunlop flats on it. I like them a lot, but I would prefer the TI if I could.
  21. Lovely! Great colour combo!
  22. I really must get it to you!
  23. It was a few years ago and I don't know what inflation will have done so @Andyjr1515 should answer that directly.
  24. Andyjnr1515 on this forum made me a beautiful one and at some point when I get another bass to him he'll be doing another one. I also know that Feline Guitars in Croydon will make them, but will want the bass to measure it up properly.
  25. I'd say Aguilars 1960s models - but they are now really expensive. Toneriders or Oil City for something more price appropriate for a Squier.... But then again I put Aguilar's in my £100 shortscale and it sounds great.
