Surely any old 3 way blade type switch would do? Any UK parts supplier will have something suitable - EBMM do not make their own switches!

They won't insure stuff from ebay or reverb sales or any big marketplace like that, but have no problem with forum type things. I emailed to ask them that last year. I'm assuming that has stayed the same.

For steel rounds - DR Hi Beams at about £38 For most flats - Ernie Ball Group iv - can usually find them for about £38 and they last for ages. For 2 basses I cannot get away from my beloved Dunlop flats. They are absolutely stupidly priced at about £85 (fluctuates a lot) for 4 string and over £100 for 5 string but I get years and years out of them. Over a 5 year period I would have spent far more on the Hi Beam rounds. The Dunlops used to be about the £50 mark but over the last 18 months they've gone mad. I've tried loads of others to see if I can get the same feel for a cheaper price without success. It would have been cheaper to just buy some more Dunlops than try a load of others! I recently restrung my 5 string after about 5 or 6 years with them on. They were still fine, I had just managed to put a bad bend in a string when I had lent the bass on the edge of a table. So really they only cost me about £20 a year.

Most of the couriers do not properly insure for damage even if you pay the extra. So use whoever you like and then buy a separate insurance policy for it - or there is a specialist called Overland Express who say they specialise in guitars and kit.

I had one of the PJ ones many years ago. It was very nice, but a bit heavy for me. I do wish I had bought a Fortress Flashback when I played one in the late 1990s. It sounded amazing but I just couldn't raise the money.

I hate notched pots. I always seem to need somewhere in between. My RM800 Evo2 had them too, but I sent it into Ashdown and they put smooth ones in for me instead.

I’d love one of the Will Lee basses. Maybe one day. -
I bought Peter’s Source Audio Aftershock. Pedal arrived very quickly and well packaged, all working perfectly. Thank you.

Joel bought my Thumpinator. Very quick payment. All good! Thank you.

It’s not me. I’d have put EMG’s in it. -
Bass Sound Capture to Computer - Interface?

Can't go wrong with a Focusrite Scarlett or an Audient ID4Mk2 The 4th Gen Scarlett's have just been announced so I'm sure there will be a blow out of the 3rd Gen stuff. There are different models with different numbers of inputs and so on, so he can pick what he needs. The Audient is a great choice too, and can be bus powered from a USB-C ipad too. -
Just surrender now. No point in fighting it. Although heroin would probably have been a cheaper habit.

I'm just about old enough to remember when they were the new standard, and at the time they were impressive compared to the other options. But, as you say, they are not really impressive now. The tech has moved on considerably.

Those cabs are mindblowingly heavy. You couldn't pay me to have them. You could get a modern 2x10 that will outperform those in every way. I wouldn't go for the amp either. On board compression with a bit of drive (not actually a tube) could look at a Darkglass M900 V2, or an Ashdown ABM, or if you don't want drive but just a great sound an EBS Reidmar.

Porcupne Tree continuing to tour with NO bass player

I saw Devin Townsend when his click system went wrong and they had to reboot the laptops. He was open about it and properly explained that as the next song had orchestral parts and he did not, in fact, earn enough money to fly an orchestra round the world to do 1500 capacity venues he was using backings and backings need a click track. It also controlled the backdrop and the lights. Nothing wrong with that to me. -

Is it though? Most of the time I see the di taken from the amp. Even if that is pre-EQ it's still getting any baked in sound and whatever pedals are being used.

How do you get Reaper to do that? All I do is record with it!

No mute switch? Controls on the back that might a tweak at a gig? That's not very clever. Thanks for the answer. I won't buy one!

I’ve just rebuilt my nano board. I had an old Ibanez Tonelock phaser on it. On guitar it’s great, but I was getting serious tone suck and loss of punch on bass. I didn’t mind so much in the house but as the new term arrives I need the heft for rehearsals to start in about 2 weeks. Assuming I don’t quit as I’m mightily annoyed with many things over the last year. I have those 2 weeks to decide. So I might end up building a multi-board set up with each board feeding into the next!

yes… but only if someone has actually transcribed it all! How many bands do that? -
@Quatschmacher - Will the Neuro App work with iOS stuff that only has a USB C output if I use a USB C to headphone adapter?
