zoot cabs

Just bought a Zoot 2x12 to go with a Markbass head(bought unseen!). The guys at Bassmerchant reccomended this combination(very helpful folk, give them a ring).
3. I will commit bigamy and marry that bass.
4. Black dye and a clear wax? Or did you get some black wax?
5.
Does everyone have to carry their own gear in the bands that people are in? In my band, we all help each other carry each others stuff. If a guitarist uses a 4x12, then they are nearly always heavier than bass players 4x10's. Our drummers hardware box weighs a ton but it's a two man lift and we take our time and we lift properly.
I always help with others equipment, plus we have a roady/soundman. But I still want a lighter rig(so does the roady).
6. I'm getting shot of my current rig for a Markbass head and a Zoot 2x12 cab. I have suffered with back pain for 10 years now and I'm fed up with dreading doing a gig because of the weight of my 4x10 makes me wince. Light rigs for me please.
7. +1 for Daisey Rock.A mate got one for his 7 year old daughter and she has no problems with it.

Zoot cabs

Been looking at The Bass Merchant site and I've got GAS for a Markbass rig.But then I noticed the Zoot cabs. My question is this;I play in a fuction band whose material spans Motown, funk, classic rock and up to date pop.I use a 4x10 at the moment but would like more spread of sound. So would a 2x12 do it,does it have a frequency spike, and has anyone tried a Zoot cab?

He's done a few things for me and is a really nice guy who doesn't charge the earth. Hamster
+1 for me.Always helpful and friendly.

Frame it and hang it on the wall.Thats pure art!
11. I currently play in a function band that pays towards my GAS attacks but the band is also recording originals.Do both,do what you will but do it all with passion and a professional attitude.
12. Bling but tasteful.I want both of those!
13. Top rig.Markbass is on my amp wish list.Just waiting for a review of a Little Giant amp to compare them.
14. My Hohner Steinberg copy...... Such a humble bass but what memories.....
15. How about collective nouns?A thump of P-basses?A growl of Stingrays?
16. Great design. I looked at the Shuker site last night and my wallet needed CPR!
17. P-basses are very 'Ronseal',ie it does what it says on the tin. I don't own one but have a p style Yamaha that works well for me. Old Leo got it so right, which is one hell of an achievement for a guy who could'nt play any instruments!
18. What a beauty. As an aside, try the Warmouth site from the USA.Have a look at the bass kit section....
toilet bass...i'd buy one
Probably got a crap sound! If the seats down does it mean your wife can play it?
20. 40th Birthday party last night.Big hotel, suprise gig for birthday boy who clearly wanted to be at home with a pizza and a dvd. Played 3/4 of our 2 set show and was asked to stop due to lack of audience interest. Most of them had left by 10:30 pm because they had young kids. We played well, tried out our new lighting rig,got fed and still recieved our pay at the end. We were the wrong band for the wrong party in the wrong venue.
21. A copy of my Status Groove,4 strings,P pup in the neck position,Ash body finished in clear satin,no scratchplate, chrome hardware.
22. You own basses of great beauty.I am arrainging a hit on you.Beware of scar-faced cockeys driving a Jag MKII.I will get a P-bass one day. Is'nt jealousy a terrible thing?
23. Have you just got a new car to lug it around?
24. Have you tried a Yamaha BB414?Very solid and bass heavy sound that has so far managed to cut through 9 other people at a rehearsal!
