1.
I always use the tone control on my bass in order to vary how bright the bass is from song to song.
me too...some songs need a more cutting tone than others. i only ever back it off by about a third of a turn though.
 2.
get some of these: http://www.hearingprotection.co.uk/index.p...&Itemid=121 I got mine at Specsavers audioligy dept in Wolves for £160 - which does sound very OTT but when you think about it, it's worth every penny.
i think i'm going to look into that very soon...thanks for the tip shame their website describes their product as beign made from "soft durable silicon".....sand in your ears anyone ?
 3. i found i got used to the earplugs quite quickly, a couple of practises and i was fine. it does take some getting used to, but i've found i can concentrate more on the drums and bass as you feel them as well as hear them. not to be boring but the alternative to not wearing them is that eventually everything is going to sound like you're wearing earplugs all the time. wear them sarah...get customs or the elacin ones from ebay
 4.
Odd thing with this one is that it's listed as being Newcastle but is collection only in London? Andy
oi ! gateshead's not newcastle...gateshead's the one with the cool bridge !! stupidly, i'm tempted by this...i mean, for that price...
 5. having a bit of a clear-out and rethink so here's a couple of pedals up for grabs the mxr has now been sold, but the small stone's still up for grabs ehx small stone phaser phaser pic best phaser i've heard. it's not perfect nick, but not far off. a few little scratches is about it. would keep it, but i've only used it a few times and it's time to let it go. no manual, but i do have the original box (no scribbles) £35 to your door and i'll chuck in an adaptor so you can use it with a normal boss-style power supply. paypal's preferred, unless you want to meet in london, in which case i'll knock a couple of quid off for the postage.
 6. the guy says 'acoustical', not 'acoustic'. therefore i'm not reading his article... yours 'very grumpy in the morning' ahpook
 7.
A foodswitch? I want one!
it helps getting a really meaty tone (sorry...i'll get me coat)
 8. plus the one to the above...i've got ont of their effects loops and the also built me a shiny red foodswitch for my ampeg
 9. thanks for the ideas folks. i'm using my fender jazz with seymour duncan pickups...it's not that hot really. maybe some more fiddling time is needed.
 10.
However, I've not had any distortion issues from using the "bass" knob, but I've generally kept that near to flat.
sorry - i meant the bass guitar, not the bass control of the ebs
 11.
Strange... have you engaged the -10db pad, too?
mine hasn't got one
 12.
Where do you have the boost & drive knobs set? These need to be used *very* sparingly...
both on minimum...that's the weird thing.
 13. i'm now the proud owner of lee650's ebs microbass and i'd like to pick the brains of anyone who's used one of these... firstly...the xlr output is hot...and i mean hot...i'm having to run my mixing desk with the trim way way down just to get a clean signal...anyone else find this ? secondly...the inputs are very sensitive...unless i turn my bass down the microbass is almost alway driven into slight overdrive by the bass...is this also anyone else's experience ? any thoughts would be most welcome.
 14. bought lee's ebs microbass II and he's a pleasure to deal with...kept me nicely up to date with PM's, the pedal arrived expertly packed and very quickly. if you're ever tempted to deal with him, you can do with with complete confidence. this guy's a dude.
 15. i currently do 3 hours a week each with my two bands. i used to do 5 hour sessions with one of my old bands, but how much of that got used as practise and how much was used in getting food and sitting and chatting is open for debate.
 16. i wouldn't hang them without finding a stud tbh... as for the lack of studs...they should be there, or else the whole wall would flex.

 18.
Go back to the original Zutons version, far far better than the Winehouse abomination and probably easier to work out.
plus the one...and you'd not have to listen to her awful caterwauling as well.
 19.
I gave him first option to buy it now that it's been fixed but he's bought some other gear So it's now up for grabs again!!
you did indeed..many thanks i'll just mention that wooks was a pleasure to deal with even though i diecided not to grab it back off him after the repairs. i've splashed some cash on some DHA stuff from some folks here, so i can't justify the zoom sadly. good luck with the sale.
I use a Fulltone bass drive to add grit to my tone. Comp mode is excellent. Although some users find the volume switch a bit too sensitive.
if you'e willing to spend the dosh, then go for a fulltone bass driver, or maybe an xotic bass bb preamp pedal. both are excellent.
 21. niiiice. did they do them in black, do you know ?
