1. ok...here you are, a few quick shots. i'm didn't bother refitting the battery clip, but i always use power supplies anyway, so it's not a big thing for me. what are your plans for yours ?
2. it was time to say goodbye to the crappy board-mounted sockets, crackly potentiometers and 9v batteries, so i ordered up the parts and after a bit of drilling and soldering the muff's all pimped up to F%£k !! switchcraft jacks and pots 9v socket from pedalmods.co.uk the LED holder was a little mangled in the upgrades (ahem), so i'll need to replace that, but it's overall the pepals a lit more tougher-feeling. nice relaxing hour on a saturday afternoon
3. it's a good job they never made them in black...i'd be a lot poorer

Castors

i only found out tonight that my swr has castors not feet. seeing as it's kindof ot, would anyone know where to get a set to fit ?
5.
looks the dogs, what about a tort scratchplate? mmmmmmm ....
naaaah...a black one... either way, it's still one of the best-looking basses i've seen...you lucky dog.
6. bought a DHA VT-1 from guy, arrived well packed and with great dispatch a gentleman and a scholar if there ever was one... cheers fella !
7. so, you pulled the trigger on a fal eh ?
8. it's pretty gross, but then i don't like basses with highly figured woods. 'coffee table basses'
9. i've got a behrinher ep2500 (2.4kW bridged into 4 ohm) that's up for sale...been gigged as the power amp in my rig about 4 times. £100 ? it's heavy tho. let me know if you're interested.
10. that's a classy bit of work there...how did you find fitting the badass ?
11. gwaaan...i'll give the vt-1 a blast. pm'd
12. "it's all around you" by tortoise. amazing album...amazing band.
13. i'll let you know when i get mine home !
14. yay ! i fixed the active circuit /much rejoycing/
15. ok...so if that's the active sorted, theoretically...i see another problem. as the blend control was handled by a single pot, it must have been controlling the blend using a mixing circuit on the pcb. so, if i'm to keep the look of the bass the same, i'll need to address that. more head scratching needed. any ideas folks ?
16. yeah, but what kind do you play ? if people ask me what kind of music i play, i normally say 'folk'. it usually stops the conversation dead. especially good for when you climb into a taxi with a bass case and don't want some long diatribe from the taxi driver about some music-ralated issue.
17.
tried it once- never agian, made them feel wrong. keep the dirt, it keeps the funk in or summit
i didn't really like the feel of them after either ! and to me the improvement in tone wasn't significant or long-lasting enough to make it worthwhile. i wonder if you could heat the string up and anneal it...how would that affect the tone ? i'd always assumed that the slow work-hardening of the metal in the string that caused the eventual loss of tone, so annealing it might actually help. dunno...that was a bit of a mental bimble there
18.
GK=Loveliness GAS to follow!!!!
no, nope...no GAS. no... well, maybe a whiff
19. one setting i like on the mxr is to have the drive at almost minimum, and then have the blend at ~9 o'clock, and then boost the bass very slightly. give it a try...see if you like it. mind you, if you want a beefy rat tone, you could get a rat and send it off to the people at pedalmods...it's what i'm going to do now i've got my rat back.
20.
There's an awful lot of copy in Brazil
i think you're stretching it a bit
21. ...and boy am i impressed !! a gk700 (??) into an ampeg 1x15...just some very minor eq tweakage and it sounded lovely - very punchy and with a nice smooth low end. but i don't have GAS, no....not at all...
22.
Yorkshireman , see. Long pockets but short arms !!!
a scotsman with all the generosity squeezed out...
23. it's about 18 years since i broke a string..i don't have the string, but i do have the gibson plectrum that had the chunk out of it that the failing string caused. new strings do indeed sound very zingy compared with old ones...my advice ? don't gig with brand new strings !
