1. i had to replace the jack socket in my jazz bass, so i reasoned that if i used a stereo socket, and wired the shield and ring contacts together i'd get a better grip and contact. ...it's it does - it feels a lot snugger that a mono socket (ahem). just thought i'd share.

Jamman PSU?

you can prolly pick up a 9v ac supply at maplins...i'm no expert on ac psu tho...would it need to be regulated or smoothed a certain way ?
3. but if i took my bass on a plane and played it in flight...wouldn't that make me, say...400mph faster than him ?
4. steve severin almost always uses heavy chorus, and most other moldulation fx quite a bit too.
5. i used to regularly gig with a 150W trace head...never had any problems being heard. maybe it's trace elliot magic !
6.
my band uses http://www.enterprisestudios.com/ , they slowly replacing a lot of the equipment. they just got some Trace 715x Combo for some of the room.
i've always found the staff in enterprise to be the main thing that puts me off, not their equipment. that's better - civility editor
7. well, i got one...i'll let you know how i get on when i get it home... mind you, if it just makes some weird noises i'll be pretty happy.
8.
Best of luck with it - I might well have had it myself if I'd had 300 sovs going spare. J.
plus the one...i need to shift some gear.
9. all basses should be black.
10.
This... this is an ugly strat...
plus the one. good site though - especially like the shots of various pre-amps. very useful.
11. that's a beautiful bass. i'd be all over it if...i....um....didn't have too many basses already. good luck with the sale. ...and i work just by euston too....damn you
12.
I thought "subject to status" meant you could only get graphite-necked basses.
very good. and thanks for the link...i'll pass that on.
13.
Cut the slots deeper or grind down the bottom of the nut to lower it. If you go too far it will rattle, but you can put a thin bit of plasitc under as a shim.
there's a shim in there already, as it was world of buzz when i tried it without... so a wee bit of trial and error is the best way...?
14. if it's new, talk to the people you got it from...if it's making buzzing noises whatever you do to it then it's broken. sorry...hope you get it sorted.
15. yep, never seen one of those before !!! a rare beast indeed.
16.
I wouldn't feel right taking something cheap because someone needed the money and so had to sell a much loved bass.
i wouldn't.
17. i'm getting very tempted to grab a few bargains while i can. spesh for a stingray...
18. can't add anything to the chord question, but guy garvey's got an amazing voice... "station approach" from 'leaders of the free world" can, given the right circumstances, make me blub like a baby...
19. ok....let's get the "ahems" and "oo-errr missus" out the way first ok...here's the problem. i bought a westone from dangerboy a while back and as ti didn't have a nut, stuck one on without much thought, but now i notice that the intonation is off on the first few frets, and i'm guessing this may be down to the nut being the wrong height. anyone confirm that this might be the cause ? and how do you work out the correct height for a nut ?
