Must have cost me at least a fiver to put together…
used one to move a piano at the weekend. seeing it in use immediately made me want to build one for gigs.
2. i use a soundtech PS802 with mine - it's very light, 800W bridged and when i've run it through an ampeg 8x10 it sounded amazing. it also sounds great with my swr 2x12
3.
BPR are cool, they ship pretty quick, never had a problem with them. Trouble is that it isn't so cost effective to get stuff over compared to the start of the year with the whole two dollars to the pound thing.
plus the one. in the end i doubt i saved lots of money, but they were fast and quick and it was exciting to watch the tracking !! as for the grooves...i prolly will eventually...the new 'letrics have arrived, so i'll we fitting them next week.
4. i'm with feynman on this one...
5. well, it's here... and it sounds great - i've not restrung it with new strings yet, as i've got some CTS pots coming to give the 'lectrics an overhaul as well. i want to save the sonic revelations for one big moment having put it on and roughly adjusted the intonation and action i'm amazed that the strings stay put...i wonder if i'll need to cut grooves after all edit: and here's a pic of the wilkinson bridge that i'm replacing, side by side with the badass.
6. apart from the ebs microbass, the only other thing i've been impressed by is my ridge farm gas cooker valve di. fantastic sound.

9. that looks very cool.... i'd love to try one of the gremlins some day as well
10. i just got hold of a pearl oc-7 octaver and it sounds really good to my ears...very fast tracking.
11. thanks for the troll advice...pics shall follow
12. a black badass II - thought it was time my old faithful jazz bass got some love... /rubs hands with ghee/
13.
Even though I'm a fan of experimental Japanese contextual bass playing, there just weren't enough penguins in it for my taste.
it's certainly very...um...modern.

Power

too much power......? mwahahahahahahahahaha ! never, meester bond. mwahahah !
16. it certainly sounds like the amp to me, sadly. as for whether the preshape button defeats the graphic eq...i've got the manual to the sm/smx series here and it's not mentioned there. the mkIII's are older though (??), so they could be different.
17. i'd wonder about the wisdom of a strapless dress with a guitar strap over your shoulder...looks like it's heading for a serious wardrobe malfunction... but i guess you ruffians would love that

effects order
It all depends on what sound you like/are looking for. If it was me, I'd go: Bass > Wah > Octivider > Phaser > Chorus > Delay > EQ > Tuner > Preamp Someone will be along in a minute to tell you something completely different
well, two mins i'd wonder whether the octaver should go before the wah, so it sees a nice full-range signal to process. BUT, if it gives you the sound you want...go with that !l half the fun of fx pedals is changing the order to see what happens.
19. should be ok if you're tidy with your soldering. one thought though - i'd be inclined to fit a lock washer inside the box on the switch shaft. hopefully the switch will come with one...if not i think malins sell them. this may reduce the clearance between the body of the switch and the bottom of the box, but only by a few mm. don't forget to show us pics !!
20. no it's not....gone again. i managed to get hold of a similar 5-tag socket, but it doesn't seem that it'll work i'm wondering about rewiring the sabre...at the mo the battery's switched out of the circuit by breaking the +ve connection. i'll have a ponder at the schematic and double check how easy it would be to rewire it to break the -ve...
21. amazing...i've never seen that clip before... great stuff....look - dave gilmour has hair !!
