1. i've got a cs-3 modded by pedalmods and it's lovely for bass.
2. is it the bass exciter ? if so, i've got one of these i'm not using
3. deffo try the switcheroo with the different power amp....certainly sounds like something's amiss. settings-wise, i set the gain to taste, drive at zero, master vol on the ampeg at full and adjust the power amp to give the output volume i need. other than that i only ever use the ultra-low switch, everything else is set flat. hope this helps
4. i used to have exactly the same set-up and i always ran the power amp in bridged mono mode, using unbalanced cables from the ampeg to the behringer. does the di produce any sound at all ? i just tried the DI out into my power amp and it was quiet, but there was a signal.
5. "what about the voice of geddy lee...how did it get so high ? i wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy ?" nice bass sound tho...

8.
I wipe over the bottom with meths to degrease it before I stick on tape. Sofa shops are good to score a chunk of foam for inside the lid, I stash my cables on the inside of the lid and put foam on top.
i use the same foam/cables trick myself i've given up on a couple of my boss pedals and just glued the velcro on with contact adhesive... i also staple the velcro to the bottom of the pedalboard every few inches, just to make sure everything stays put.

15. franlky, it was pants, my gig. spent two thirds of me set with my foot up against the bass drum as the venue didn't seem to understand the importance of drum rugs on wooden floors. didn't get back till gone 2 as it was out of town, AND this is after me getting the train to the place we were playing straight from work...on a saturday meh...
