2. I don't think a subscription is a bad idea, but personally would be in favour of also having the option to pay for a one off ad also, or a shorter, say month long subscription. EDIT: Posted before I saw Ped's reply above
3. +1 on the octave pedal. I like to use an OC-2 into either a frederic effects green russian or more recently the fuzzrocious grey stache.
4. I have one of the Behringer PN-2 clones and it works great and has (so far) survived moderate use. I also bought the Dimension C clone a few days ago (Behringer CC300) but unfortunately the first setting has a slight glitch (which is a bit of a reoccuring problem according to the amazon reviews). So a bit hit and miss for me, but considering the price, I can't really complain too much.
5.
Thanks Ruiner, is yours an early one or does yours have the reversed pickup?
I have two, and they're both the older model. I'd quite like to try out one of the reversed pickup ones though.
6. In that case it probably would. From what I've read on here the Dirnt necks are huge, even by precision standards. The Hoppus is a great bass. The SPB-3 pickups are excellent and I've never missed the tone control for what I do although a lot of people see it's exclusion as a major limitation. If I was you I'd try and find one I could try out in a local store first.
7.
On paper, the only reason to think to own one is for the Blink 182 connotations; otherwise just go out and get a precision with a jazz neck!
Regardless of the Blink 182 association, it's one of the only ways of getting an affordable, off the shelf bass with the body of a jazz and the sound and neck of a precision. So if you're looking for a jazz neck, the hoppus isn't for you. I think the blacktop jazz bass has a jazz body/neck with two sets of p-bass pickups so maybe that would suit you better.
8. Bought a Fuzzrocious Grey Stache from Chris. Excellent, hassle free transaction and quickly dispatched. Thanks again
9. Was quite surprised when I saw recent download footage a few months back at how good they were. Will have to check this out on iplayer.

11.
If you want to start a serious petition check your spelling first...
Haha indeed. Bringing back the elusive bass IV is a crazy idea. Too niche. I'll forgive the poor spelling though if it means I get my hands on one without having to sell both my kidneys.
12. Thought I'd post this here in case anyone was interested and wanted to take part. Someone over on the facebook bass VI group has started a petition to try and get an affordable Squier bass Vi released (following the release of the recent Squier VM offsets). http://www.ipetition.../squier-bass-6/
13. Isn't that the same guy from this old clip? EDIT: Just read the description. It is. I'd recognise those moves anywhere
14.
Someone has an auto bid on it. Their max bid is higher than yours each time, when you place a bid they automatically outbid you. It will keep on happening until you outbid them.
+1 It would only show a bid from you in the bidding history if you have a 'sucessful' bid, i.e. one that is higher than whatever the current highest bidder's maximum bid is.
15. I recently bought one of the string through body Japanese RI Mustangs and I'm having a nightmare trying to find strings that both fit and intonate correctly (short scale strings too short, regular scale don't seem to intonate properly) After following the advice in this thread, http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f16/share-what-strings-do-do-not-fit-**-intonate-fender-mustang-reissue-758438/ I bought a set of medium scale D'Addario's (EXL160M) but the E string tapers in front of the nut Does the E string taper look a bit on the short side to anyone else (compared to the A and D strings) making this a one off dodgy set or am I back to square one with my search? Any advice greatly appreciated.
16. Love his playing. Angel Dust remains one of my favourite albums of all time.
17.
Check out a show by Henry Rollins on KCRW called 'Harmony In My Head'. A more eclectic bunch of music you will not find. There's an archive of all the previous shows at www.rollins-archive .com. Also has playlists for each show.
Thanks. These look awesome.
18.
Sometimes stage names shouldn't be used though. Like Pat Smear from the Foo Fighters, his real name is Georg Ruthenberg, which if you ask me, sounds MUCH better than Pat Smear... Liam
Think that name stems from when he was in the Germs. I don't think Georg Ruthenberg would've sat quite as well alongside Darby Crash, Lorna Doom and Donna Rhia I guess the name stuck.
19.
This is cheeky a hell but... do you have a tab for it? Would be great to be able to sit and learn it
+1 Not normally a fan of tapping stuff but this awesome.
20. Is the great destroyer an easy build? Love the dwarfcraft pedals and always fancied getting my hands on a great destroyer.
21. So yeah, he's obviously an idiot. Either subconsciously or deliberately he's undermining and belittling you in front of the rest of the band. However it sounds like the rest of the band aren't idiots and so chances are they'll be thinking the same as you. I'm tempted to say give it another week and see what happens, but having been in bands with people like that, it probably will just serve to make you feel even more angry. Maybe have a chat with the others, if they want to give him another chance fair enough, but try not to let it visably get to you. Rise above it. He's only making himself sound like a complete tool, and the more he does it, the more the rest of the band will notice it. I always find it better that people come to the conclusion themselves that someone isn't right, rather than you have to be the one who says 'I can't work with him'
22. Yet another teen spirit.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ6Xo1mYSJg And to readress the balance Nirvana do Devo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2MDlvg-4qc
