1. Excellent. Might see you at Swanfest.
2. Although you're in my area I'm a bit too old for punk and anyway I'm already gigging in Aldershot on the 14th Aopril. It might be worth your while popping along to the Jams at the Unicorn in Aldershot on a Monday or the Lion Brewery in Ash on a Thursday to see who's available.
3. It happens here as well. Last week a BCer was talkng about route notes. Aren't they something bus or rally drivers have?
4.
Cool. Time to jump on the curly lead bandwagon obbm
I looked into the possibility about 3 or 4 years ago. Firstly they have to be one standard fixed length as the ends need to be straight for the connectors and secondly I would have to invest in a huge quantity in order to get a sensible buying price that it wasn't financially viable for me. .
5. Great news Clarky. Congratulations.
6.
Lots of love on BassChat for our own Dave (obbm) and his truly excellent high-quality instrument and speaker cables (among other things). I notice (rather belatedly) that his website 'basic-bits' has now become 'rock-wire': http://www.rock-wire.uk.com/ Is this a 'Snickers' and 'Marathon' moment, Dave? Or possibly 'Sri Lanka' and 'Ceylon'? Or even 'Iceland' and 'Bejams'..? *babbles incoherently* Anyway I thought I'd give it a plug, I'm always up for promoting quality products at the right price! And if you happen to be in the market for some new cables, I (and lots of others on here) can certainly recommend obbm with no hesitation. Top quality, great value and brilliant service and comms. No-brainer! (Can I have that tenner now please, Dave?) Mark
Thanks for the plug Mark. Bassic-bits has always been the trading name, especially on Ebay, but has never been the company name. Last year I decided that at some point in the future I might want to fully retire and sell the business so I needed to separate the company name from my own name and Rock-Wire seemed more appropriate. It's a good name on which to build a brand. I run both bassic-bits.co.uk and rock-wire.uk.com web sites concurrently with exactly the same information and prices. Bassic-bits will stay as the Ebay trading name but eventually, all cables will carry the Rock-Wire brand name however I suppose that here they will always be known as obbm's cables.
7.
Where did you find a TU-50 from?!?! can't find one for love nor money - have an SE-50 and she needs a buddy
From a fellow forum member. They are very rare.
8.
That really is "mini" Thats a really nice job there How much does it weigh ?
Just put it on the bathroom scales and it's 14.7Kg Not featherweight but easily manageable because of its size. It fits nicely between the two cabs in the car boot.
9. I've just finished my MiniRig Mk2. It was gigged for the first time last weekend and worked fine with a pair of Aguilar SL112s. The rack case was made to my specification by Flightcase warehouse and I can't praise them enough. They shaved days off their quoted delivery so I could have it in time for my gig and it was dimensionally perfect. The spacing of the rack strip was such that I could fix several rack trays which came from a Gator wireless mic case. The Boss Tuner and dbx compressor are screwed to these This mean't that the overall width was just larger than the GK Fusion Amp which is secured from underneath by bolts into the feet holes. Note the extra hole in the side for the GK cooling fan. There is still nothing in the top 1U tray so I've been wondering about fitting a small UV light.
10. European, or Shuko as they should be called, plugs don't have fuses in them. Fuses in the plug is UK quirk. In the UK the fuse is only there to protect the cable from the plug to the appliance. A 13A fused IEC power cable will be just fine.
11.
2 8x10! wow that's a good idea lol thank's obbm that's exactly what i was thinking i just wasn't to sure.
You'll need to put the Output Mode switches into Biamp and Stereo which should give you 500-watts Low Pass and 2 x 250-watts High-pass.
12. BFC is the equivalent of 3 x 4-ohm cabs AH-1000 has 3 x power amps, each of which is minimum of 4-ohms so you can power 3 separate 4-ohm cabs from it.
13.
Yes I do, although I usually only see Joe when he is doing the annual Light of Day stuff here in January. Glad to make your acquaintance.
Likewise. The band I was in toured with Joe and Stone Caravan here a few years ago. I try to get to see him and the boys when they're over here as they always play one of our local pubs.
14. Welcome Tom. You must know Joe D'Urso and Mr Lou.
15. Welcome indeed.
16.
Hiya, Any interest in Trading for a very nice MIJ Fender Jazz 5 string ? Best Wishes Mike
Thanks for the offer Mike but I'm not interested in any 5-strings as I have too many already, hence the for sale ad for the Shuker. I once owned a 5-string Jazz and found it unplayable due to width of the neck and the shortness of my fingers.
17. March bump. Will sell for £1000 or trade + cash for late 60s/early 70s Fender Jazz or original Musicman Sterling.
18. Thunderfunk TFB550 Bass Amplifier retro-fitted with "The Switch". includes manual and rack mount kit. £550 cash or bank transfer. Postage extra or can meet/deliver within reason. Could be interested in trade + cash either way for Fender MIJ Jazz, Musicman Sterling (original version not later Sterling by MM), early/mid 1970s Jazz.

20.
`chris` at bass centre which is now at bagshot..........................
Bagshot? Where exactly?
21.
Thanks Dave, ho hum. Looks like a great sounding practice (as opposed to gigging) cab on my hands for the foreseeable future then!
if you can't take the impedance down then take the watts up and drive it from a bridged power amp that will deliver oodles of watts into 8-ohms.
22. It will either be 2 x 4-ohm speakers in series to make 8-ohms or 2 x 16-ohm speakers in parallel to make 8-ohms. Either way you can't rewire it to be 4-ohms. The Laws of Physics won't let you.
