1. Having just paid the cash to Lozz, I can confirm it's now mine and looking forward to getting hold.
  2. Fellas, Hipshot say BT10 is the code for general Fender Japan bass tuner extender. I've emailed them if that applies to 1980s Jazz Special as it seems a stretch that it covers all across the years. While I'm waiting has anyone put one on a 1980s Jazz Special? I just put one on my bitsa Jazz and now must have one on this bass as its become my favourite.
Nice bass, i don't normally like gold but this is cool. What neck?
It's a Fender licensed neck. Likely a Mighty Mite (Im a bit confused as I did a bits-and-pieces Strat at around the same time). It took a bit of careful sanding to get seated but is a good tight fit and was very reasonable price. I went through a stage of constantly searching for the perfect action, adding/removing shims and messing with relief and bridge/saddles. I've got it to something Im very happy with. This all happened 'cos I finished a house refurbishment and suddenly had loads of spare time, wanted a bass but didnt have loads of money. So I won't pretend its the best bass on earth, but for about £300 I reckon its pretty good. I quite fancy doing another one. Precision next time.

I constructed this from some secondhand and some new bits and put a naughty Fender decal on it. Yellow sparkle body was £26 from ebay. No idea what it is really. All in all it came in at just under £300 and means I have the confidence to fanny around with it all time. Maybe I should play it a bit more. Spent the right money on the SJB2s and electrics from a chap in New York. Here you go.
  5.
Niiiiiiice! Is this the best colour combination? I think so. I used to be an 'all black' kind of chap but since getting my FPJBS in this same pearl white/black I have become something of a fan of the look.
Yeah I like the vintage white thing. Not a bass of course but I've got a Tokai LS75 Love Rock (Les Paul Standard copy) in vintage white with cream binding which makes the guitar look almost green. That could be the only guitar that eventually remains as I'm gradually replacing them with basses.
  6.
Welcome to the family. Looks great. All original too by the looks of things. Was this the one on eBay? Hope you got a bargain if so!
Thanks it great to be here. Yes this was an ebay purchase. I bid midway then walked away and was lucky enough to get it for what i think is a good price. Ive been looking for a PJ bass, so tracking Aerodyne Classic Precision and these. Its got signs of wear only where you'd expect it, strap, belt rash but otherwise in good shape. I'm missing one "F" cap on the tone control but from what I've read thats pretty normal and I've got no chance of replacing them but no problem. Just been away for a bit of practise and its a very nice play.
  7. Look what just arrived at my house this Saturday. Feels and sounds lovely.
  8. Hi, I have my eye on improved amplification so would like to sell this. I've deliberately not touched it for a while to make it possible to part with. This Ernie Ball Musicman Sterling bass has a black body, rosewood neck and is almost immaculate. A minor surface buckle scratch on the back is all thats stops it being immaculate. I replaced the blue tortoise shell plate with this clear perspex one. I don't have the original. It comes with its own excellent condition hard case. I'm looking for £650 for this and I'm located in Hampshire/Surrey/Berks border area. Cheers, Ian And the blemish on the back
