1. Haven't you worked out yet who the seller is?
2.
MB1. No dead spots, improves sustain, narrower neck profile, wont go out tune as often,Carbon Graphite is more stable than wood. Try one!
+1
3.
done that, still no notifications
+1
4. I've received zero email notifications since the change-over. Tried resetting the settings - nothing. Checked the junk email folder at the server - nothing in it. So how do I get them to work guys?
5. I've used my pair at a rehearsal, as backline for two local jams and at the SE Bash, all with a GK MB200. All I can say is that they do it for me. I shall be gigging them.
6. Gary has been a good customer of Rock-Wire (formerly bassic-bits) for several years. Dealing with him is very straightforward and always a pleasure.
7. Bought a Tort scratch plate. Exactly as described. Very straightforward transaction. Posted very quickly. Deal with confidence.
8.
Project that I'm looking at is to build a P/J passive using a std P-bass plate with the jack in the plate (no need to drill through the edge into the rout). Of course looking at old style P-bass deluxe wiring (3 x 250k pots) but with only 2 knob holes in plate and top rout big enough for 2 pots I need 2 of those 250k pots on the 1 plate hole. So am looking for a stacked concentric 250k/250k pot. I want to use vintage style chrome knobs so am probably looking for 17/64" 6.75mm outer shaft with 3/16" 4.76mm inner shaft. Anyone know where I can get one? Seen 250k/500k & 500k/500k but NO 250k/250k
I did it by buying a pair of 250K/500K and two single 250K pots and peforming surgery. They work very well.
9. Thanks all. Zoom H2 on order.
10. Thanks for the quick responses. Previously I have used a portable mini-disc recorder and small external which fulfilled the role very well but is a bit fiddly to set up. I'm not after studio quality recording just a record of what's been played so (a) I know what I need to play or ( whether I played it right. I had spotted the Zoom H1 and there seem some good deals around at the moment.
11. I'm about to join a new band and need to record rehearsals and live shows. There seem to be quite a number of different makes so based on user experience which make/model is the best value for money?
12. Wow. If someone would take my pre-EB Ray off my hands I'd have this in a heartbeat.
13. Pin 1 of the TA4F is ground. Pin 3 is signal.
14. I watched the Blues Brothers again recently and he plays a couple of basses in there, one of which was a 3TS with what looked like a J neck. Perhaps a bit of freeze-frame is in order. Have to agree with Jack that the Lakky DD is a fine bass with great character, just perhaps the wrong colour.
15. Just got home from buying a Sunburst Geddy Lee from Iain. Lovely chap and makes a really nice cup of tea. BTW the bass is pretty good too.
16. As far as pick-ups go I had this response from Lakland a few years ago when I had a DJ4. "The cloth covered wires are on the Lindy Fralin pickups. The black/white plastic coated wires are the Aeros. There have been times when the Aeros were hard to come by. We would sometimes install the Lindy Fralins if there was a pinch. We wouldn't go the other way however (Aeros for Fralins). We feel that the Fralins sound better than the Aeros." I believe that the Lakland pickup wires are red/green. Hope this helps.
17. Top bloke. John purchased my Lakland Duck Dunn. We agreed to meet half way-ish to conduct the deal. He was at the rendezvous early and the transaction was very quick and efficient. All in all a very pleasurable experience.
18. bump for major price revision.
19.
Is the 2 pole Speakon different in appearance to the 4 pole? If so it would help in identifying which end is which. Peter
It is but I always label the amp end of the cable anyway.
20. At the time that your QSC was made there was only chassis-mount Speakon available was the 4-pole. More recent amps are now using a chassis mount version of the 2-pole Speakon. Many Speakon to Speakon cables use the 2-pole Speakon connector as most amps and cabs only use terminals 1+/1- of the chassis mount 4-pole Speakon. To tap into the bridged mode of your amp you need a 4-pole Speakon at the amp end of the cable, so either a 4-pole Speakon (wired 1+/2+) to a 2-pole Speakon (wired 1+/1-) or a 4-pole Speakon (wired 1+/2+) to a 4-pole Speakon (wired 1+/1-) will do the trick. Hope I haven't confused.
21. Hi Steve Really glad to hear that things are improving. There are plenty of simple bass lines, roots and fifths, in early skiffle, Johnny Cash, etc.
22. After showing it at the SE bash on Saturday I finally got to use my new Mini-Rig at a local Jam last night. It rocks. Ideal for a pub gig as it was more than loud enough with a drummer, and very punchy. Lots of favourable comments.
23.
I thought if something was for sale we had to state a price, not "open to offers"?
Oops. Price quoted.
24. And good time was had by all - well certainly by me. Nice to see so many BC friends and to make some new ones.
