No matter how you try to configure six by 4, 8, 16 or 32-ohm speakers it will always come out at 5.3-ohms. It' s the laws of physics.

I had a bass built to my specification by Alan at ACG. There are several excellent UK luthiers so I would recommend that you talk to them before going overseas. You might even save some money.

For those of you that know me I had a pretty torid time following major surgery exactly 2 years ago which has precluded me from any serious gigging. Finally things have settled down so I was startiing to look for a band when I was recently contacted by a local drummer to see if I wanted to join a band he was putting together. We finally we got together in a rehearsal studio last night and spent almost 4 hours running through loads of numbers. It's heavy blues covers by the like of Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, SRV, etc. plus some blues standards, Clapton, Cream and Free numbers for good measure. Three of the four of us are retired so there are a good few years experience. Now we've got to sort a set, nail it and find some gigs. It's great to be back playing again. As for gear I used the Shuker PJ5 which I grow to like the more I play it, Orange AD200B and an Epi 2x12. Weighty, but nice tone.

Glad to hear that this is being sorted however it does make me question the competence of the Gallery in understanding the equipment they sell.

You could also change the pre-amp valves to lower gain versions or put an attenuator in the effects loop to lower the drive from the pre-amp to the power stage.

OP, I think there's an option missing from the list, a good old book, you know those things made of paper with printing on them. In 1962 or thereabouts, when I started, there were no tutors, teachers, internet, tab, songbooks, etc. The only way to learn how to tune the bass, basic scales and chords was the book written by Chas McDevitt and Shirley Douglass, the name of which escapes me for the moment however I'm rather envious of the fact that Happy Jack actually still has a copy of it. After that it was by ear, transcribing everything by hand.

Now the Tone Hammer has been around for a month or so has anyone got any gig experience with it or comments, reviews, etc?

Cheers.[/quote] You shouldn't need to do anything, just use them as they are. All it means is that you won't be using the wconductors between terminals 2+ to 2+ and 2- to2-. The 1+ to 1+ and 1- to 1- are compatible with 2-pole Speakons.

Have you tried connecting the amp to the cab with a jack to jack cable? For test purposes an instrument cable will do. You should be able to uses both jacks as inputs.
