Every time I renew the page my Kaspersky Anti-Virus is warning me that someone is trying to steal passwords and personal data and is blocking the top left ad and the footer ad block. It seems to be something to do with Google. What is going on?

It'll also go with my Epi 2x12, 2 x Epi 1x12s and the UL310. Just depends which I can fit in the Smart.
Very intrigued by these little amps and really fancy one! Are they valve or hybrid? cheers andy
Twin valve pre-amp and Class D solid-state power amp.

I got a promotional mailshot from SoundsLive the other day publicising their new web site. Included were a number of discount vouchers including 10% off Orange amps. Not being one to ignore a bargain I placed an order for a 500-watt Terror Bass which instead of the listed £412.39 brought the price down to £371.15 + carriage. A good saving and certainly the best price I've seen. They are due in stock within 2 weeks so now I have to wait, and wait, and wait. It'll be interesting to see what they go up to when VAT rises again.

Someone buy it quick. That looks a good price for a Marcus Miller

Can some one explain the whole Musicman, Stingray, Sterling thing
obbm replied to dave_bass5's topic in Bass Guitars
A Stingray 5 has been my main bass for over 11 years now, and with a Status neck for the past 5 years. If you liked the neck on the Duck Dunn then you will like the Status neck, however the sound might not suit. You are welcome to try mine but that could be logistically difficult. For sometime now the Gallery have had a used SR5 with a Status neck on their web site. Why not drop in and try it if it's still there. On the subject of DDs. Mine is now a PJ with a matched pair of Lindy Fralins. Superb. -
Dirty/intermittent contacts in the FX send and return jacks. Clean or over-ride with a short jack to jack cable.

Typical! You wait for 1 Bass and 3 come along at once

Nice doing business again Nick. Glad you like the Precision. I'm looking forward to gigging again and using the Shuker. I've played the song many times but now I really am "Living Next Door to Alice" -
ITV are showing An Audience with Donny and Marie (Osmond) tonight at 8:00pm. Recorded recently in London it features no other than my good friend, and tutor to many, Paul Geary on bass duties. From the short trailer I saw the band are on stage rather than hidden away in another studio. He recently became on Overwater endorsee so it'll be interesting to see of he uses his new toy or his faithful old Stingray 5. Paul was the founder Head of Bass at ACM in Guildford but the draw of live performance was too much. In recent years Paul's provided the low end for Nik Kershaw, George Michael and also a tour with Simply Red. I believe he still tutors the performance workshops at ACMas well as giving private lessons.

+1 on the 2nd generation CAR Duck Dunn with Lindy Fralin. A close runner up comes the DJ4 that I had followed by the DJ5. Both excellent. Did not get on with the JO5 or the Jerry Scheff 4. One day I will try a JO4. If the neck is the same as the DD, which I believe it is, then it'll be magic.
Yeah, thats how ive got the pups but there is about 1mm difference between the D and the others. Not a big difference and one im happy to live with but i would like to be getting the best out of the pup. Excuse the poor quality pic but hopefully this will show if im being silly or not.
I would drop Carey Nordstrand an email and ask his opinion. Apparently he's quite approachable.

They should be following the curvature of the fretboard so the distance from the string to the polepiece is the same for all.
-
Do not power it without a speaker attached. If you are unsure about it then take it to a responsible amp tech to have it checked over. or give it to me.

Congratulations. Thoughtful and wonderful gift.

Because it never gets played these days my 1980 preEB Stingray. Root Beer body with Rosewood Board. Brass Nut. Gold plated hardware. Tort and Black Scratch plates. Factory case. I was told when I bought it that it had been originally made for Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith but unfortunately I have no proof of that. Great tone and plays well. A few knocks to the body but that's to be expected for a bass that is almost 30 years old. Collect only as I'm semi-housebound and anyway who would want to trust this to Parcelforce or a courier. Straight sale or might consider trade for Status S2 5-string with side LEDs or other 5-string of comparable value.
This might sound a bit simple but does the board actually produce a sound or is it vibration only?
Not tried it yet but I suspect that it's low frequency vibration which needs to be used in comjunction with IEMs..
Where did you get it from, Dave?
Guitarguitar along with everyone else. I've seen smaller versions of this in Germany when I was at MusicMesse in Frankfurt a few years ago. They had a type of ButtKicker that clamps on to a drummers stool but also a small version for a bass player to put his foot on. If it works then I will make myself a small one.

I have to confess that a Pleasure (Board) is all mine. It's just been delivered. I'm really looking forward to trying it and seeing if it makes it easier for me to play without deafening the band.

Awesome Bass Players of the 70s chapter 74 - Tomsk from the Wombles
It was whoever was around at the time. A couple of my friends worked at CBS at the time, and had the costumes thrust at them...
I used to know a guy called Rob Summers who worked at the recording studios and his claim to fame was that he was that Womble on TOTP because he was the only one big enough to fit the costume.
