  1. Depends on the genre of course but I find click tracks to be more or less essential. We live in the Youtube age where a drummer is considered good if they get 1m hits on a 64th note paradiddle drum solo. Most drummers nowadays completely gloss over the basics that you need in an ensemble context (time, feel, groove) in favour of glamorous nonsense. The same could be said of most musicians I guess. 99% of large scale touring bands use a click live for one reason or another - a notable exception being Metallica, whose live tempos are notoriously terrible.
  2. Don't noodle in between songs - it's boring and ruins the anticipation of the next song.
  3. Hi all Something has just come up that has caught my eye, so this beauty is the first to leave my stable. 2012 EBMM US Stingray 5 H with Official Hardshell Case. It's in 10/10 condition, looks like it has barely been played at all! Not a mark on it anywhere that I can see. Recently set up with a new set of EBMM Slinky strings which have had about 2 hours play time. It could genuinely pass as a new bass apart from some minor swirling on the pickguard. The case is also immaculate. Weight is 4.5kg. It also comes with Dunlop Straplok buttons included. No trades thanks! SOLD I guess I should clarify also that as NI is in the UK, there is no import/export duty or any of that carry on! Try outs are welcome if you happen to be near County Tyrone. Thanks Danny
  4. Hi all Selling this cracking little cabinet as I have two and don't need both. It's a 1x10 with a tweeter rated at 250w at 8ohms. Neodymium speaker so it's super lightweight at 9.5kg (21lbs) and very portable with a handle on top. Front ported too so sounds great on all stages. Also has a pop out stand underneath to allow it to be tilted slightly for easy monitoring. These are quite rare and were only made for a very limited time by Ibanez It's in great condition, virtually unused as was a spare that was rarely needed. I guess I should clarify also that as NI is in the UK, there is no import/export duty or any of that carry on! Dimensions: 32cm W x 33cm D x 46cm H Thanks Danny
  5. Bought a lovely bass from Jason which arrived immaculately packaged, a smooth and hassle free transaction all around with great communication throughout. Thanks a million
  6. Don't dare mention Joe Dart on this forum 😉
  7. I used the 760FL on P and J basses before and honestly I think the slightly lighter gauge of the FLs might feel a little more comfortable than the FS on the Casady, given the position of the pickup which is marginally closer to the bridge than say a neck pickup on a P.
  8. I love mine, bought it a few weeks ago and she's the veteran of 3 gigs so far - all jazz/swing gigs. Put a Hipshot Supertone on it as soon as I got it and finished with a set of my usual La Bella 760FS flats (45-105). I love the 50 setting on the Varitone with the tone control rolled off, just a beautiful plummy tone. I suspect the 500 setting might work better for pop and rock gigs as it seems to have a bit more poke. The neck feels great too. All in all, a wonderful bass for the money.
  9. I thought number 2 sounded a little thinner, especially on the open notes that were allowed to ring a bit longer. That said, both tones are cool and I would be happy with either! I suspect that the Kiogon loom will last longer and be slightly more robust than the Squier stock loom tho - which is definitely a consideration for a gigging bass.

  12. Didn't they make a Joe Dart H Sterling in black stain? Could be a possibility.
  13. So are we excited by this new bass or?
  14. I think they may have recorded the video in reverse then inverted it. Would be a pretty big undertaking but not impossible. Some of the drumstick patterns look odd too.
  15. Hi all Has anyone seen the latest Fearless Flyers video? Joe seems to be playing an EBMM Dart Sig style bass with two white J pickups in the traditional positions with two white volume knobs. Another sig model on the horizon perhaps?
  16. I notice most strings have increased in price - my usual La Bellas and DRs have both increased by £3 to £4 a set since I last bought them.
  17. I do everything except fret work, but bought four neck blanks recently to practice on.
  18. Hi all Simple question for Epi JC owners - what's on yours? I'm thinking flats or tapes - tempted by my usual La Bella 760FS but might try a set of tapes. Cheers D
