  1. I assumed the ZS10 and ZS10 Pro were just two different names for the same earphone? There is a Pro X which appears to be a different product, but no differential between ZS10 and Pro on their website.
  2. I would think about a lower tension flat than the Deep Talkin if you play over the Stingray bridge pickup. The tension there would be quite high.
  3. Just got Snakepit tickets for both nights in Amsterdam, April 2023! Can't wait!
  4. In my experience of Roto RS66s, 8 hours playtime is more than enough to wear out a string.
  5. Just in the door at home after a weekend of smashing gigs in the UAE - first time over there, it's totally amazing! Brought 2016 US P Bass, HX Stomp and IEMs with me and it sounded great! Local crew over there were superb and provided all PA stuff. Can't wait to get back over there!
  6. It certainly is. While the pickup itself is wound in a single coil - the positioning over pole pieces greatly affects the vibration of the string within the magnetic field. This phenomenon led to the infamous Stingray weak G syndrome for over 40 years before finally being corrected.
  7. People will tell you that it doesn't make a difference - aesthetically it does and IMHO also sonically. The magnetic field that a string vibrates in is different depending on how much of the string is above the pole piece. For me, consistency is key and I feel the same about strings being perfectly centred between pole pieces (e.g. J and P basses)
  8. Off topic, but quite a lot of FOH engineers now on large tours will mix in stereo. An example would be if the singer points to the brass section for a solo section, it makes sense to the audience that the sound should come from that side of the stage. It's never hard panned, but the stereo field is utilised often.
  9. I love mine, it's a great vibe and look for acoustic/jazz gigs. I have La Bella 760FS on mine and they are fantastic, although I have considered a slightly lighter gauge (760FL perhaps). The tone is beaut!
  10. Remember it well! Welcome to BC

Very sad news indeed. Another good guy gone.
  12. Have you seen the new Di Marzio Relentless J pickups? They have adjustable pole pieces: https://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/standard-bass/relentless-j-pair
  13. All strung top load only. I'm never convinced about the break angle for the thru body stringing!
  14. Love this! I have a thing for post 2010 white US Fenders (with the US****** serial numbers) - they are just immense! I have five of them! My P's are strung with La Bella 760FS and they just bark.
  15. I love stereo IEMs. The separation between instruments is so much better, I don't have the beltpack as loud as a result and everything sounds clearer in the mix. Typically, I pan drums to the right, all other band members to the left and have myself in the middle of the stereo field.
  16. Bought quite a few guitars from mainland UK and had them sent here with absolutely no issues. Courier booked in the normal way with no additional forms or paperwork at all.
  17. I'll weigh in with the fantastic Fontaines DC:
  18. Agreed. There's a difference in x-over frequency too between the *35 and *45 speakers. The latter sends a lot more to the horn which makes the woofer more efficient for bass and kick drum (although I would still always hi-pass both)
  19. Is the sound there when the bass isn't plugged in - i.e. can it be heard acoustically?
  20. I went from DR Lo Rider nickels to NYXLs as my round of choice. They sound great! I use them on both P and J Fenders.
  21. Anything by Black Sabbath or Ghost 🤘
  22. I use a pair of RCF 745A as our band PA - I generally high pass the bass and drums a bit, but no issues handling a full band including mic'd kit and two mic'd guitar amps for small to medium bar gigs (100 - 200 people)
  23. The bridge on the Elites is also superior, offering 3/4 slots per string to get the alignment over the pickups correct. The Ultra has that new big block Fender bridge which doesn't have the same option.
