  1. Agree about the pickup position. Interesting. Also, with the reverse headstock the bass could be strung B E A D no problem.
  2. That rig looks great. What is the power of the combo? Does it increase adding the external cab?
  3. If only I had bought that '64 offered to me for eighty quid when I was after my first bass in the early '80's!!!
  4. Ive owned one too. Great tone and powerful enough to use as a stage monitor on smaller gigs.
  5. So cool. This bass has some serious mojo.
  6. With an action that low it must almost play itself.
  7. This is a work of art my friend. Congrats on another superb build and great thread.
  8. I saw on No Treble website in mid-May that he had some sort of leukemia and was stopping gigging to get treatment. Didn't expect this news. Unbelievable!!! He leaves an amazing legacy.
  9. She was tuneless as usual. Even the addition of FIVE female backing singers couldn't disguise the fact.
  10. I loved everything about my thumb except the long scale length. A short-scale version would be something to see so if the mood takes you Andy.....
  11. Looks great with the matching headstock.
  12. I hate this. I had a Yamaha bass nicked once. Most pawn shops don't ask any questions when they get offered good stuff for pennies and if they are a chain store there's a good chance your gear will end up in another shop far away from where you live. I will have around my way. Good luck.
  13. Apparently Bill has the only short-scale L2. A one-off mould made specially just for him.
  14. Just curious but what did the final assembly weigh in at?
  15. That bass just screams vintage! Would love to hear that one.
  16. Just wondering if anyone has a dvd release date for the Jaco film? I believe it was shown last month during the SXSW festival in Austin Texas but beyond that new info seems pretty sketchy.
  17. I remember seeing a similar lefty fretless 5 Thumb for sale on another forum which also had four knobs. The guy said it had a piezo fitted in the bridge. I wonder if this is what the extra knob could be?
  18. Looks sterling. So when exactly is this going into production? I'm assuming lefty option included of course! :-)
  19. You could prob stick a spike on that thing and play it like an upright.
  20. Wowser! Still fantasise about owning a Wal since playing a fretless many years ago at The Bass Place in Wapping on a trip to London. Didn't have the pennies then and sadly still don't have them now.
  21. Would like to see some better, more detailed pics please :-)
