1. Saw a band a while ago where the bass player used a black and decker workmate thingy to raise his amp with. Didn't look great, but I suppose you could cover it with something. Spoke to the guy and he'd had the same issue with loss of top end before using it.
2. How are you setting the eq? Excessive bass boost is likely to cause clipping. You could try it with the controls flat and see if it makes a difference
3. You can get rack ears from Here which you may be able to attach to the amp if its a standard 19" width. May involve a bit of careful drilling though
4. I'm just in the process of psyching myself up to knock up a case for a bloody heavy 1u power amp I've recently acquired, using off cuts leftover from my BFM O10 build. Whilst the amp is only 1U high, its over 45cm in depth and wont fit in a standard case. if you wanted to go down that route, this site is a good resource.
5.
That's cool, but I guess it's better the other way, isn't it?
I thought he wanted to get a ¼" jack plugged into his amp?
6. Maplin do an adapter, if you dont want to wire in a speakon,
7. Hi, my sons youth project have been donated a pair of HZ He-200 speakers, and it would appear that I've been volunteered to provide an amp and mixer to power them. Trouble is I know next to sod all about PA stuff, having successfully avoided anything to do with it all these years, so I'm after some advice from the Knowledgeable Ones on here. I haven't really got a clue as to what rating of power amp they would need to power these without damaging the speakers with distortion or clipping or whatever. They have backline sorted, so they will only be used for vocals (3 mics at the most) and their rehearsal room is like a small village hall sized place. Any advice or recommendations greatly appreciated Cheers Andy
8. I have a barely used Hartke LH500 in a rackbag If you're interested, shoot me a pm and we could discus cash adjustment etc Cheers Andy
9. Just done a trade with Hamster, a very pleasant and easy transaction. Had a nice cuppa and a good chat about bass stuff! Cheers
10.
Externally, the scratch plate is different and the pick up in a slightly different place, but I can't recall what else, or which is which. When I had mine about 7 years ago the head stock said Status Shark II, which is the only reason I know a 'II' model exists... If you look at the version on the bay, the scratch plate does not have the 'horn' with the dials mounted on it and th pick up is further back... Yours is prettier the way it is though without a doubt!
Thanks for the info Played this at rehearsal last night, I must be bonkers selling this I'm on the verge of committing myself to the purchase of another instrument, though, so will probably put this on ebay in the new year in the hope that someone has a bit of Christmas lolly to spend!
11. I expect Simon Law would be able to do it, if you can pin him down. 07786 563214

14. I see thrre's a video of Rhythm stick from the Live in Colchester DVD available on you tube now, good for an insight on Norms technique. Dylan Howe is a great drummer too!
15.
One of them is a shark and one is shark II if I'm not mistaken... Which is yours?
I dont really know, and not sure I know what the difference is. Perhaps someone could enlighten me?

21. These are criminally underrated, you wont get better build quality and playability anywhere else at that price. I just happen to have a five string up for grabs at the moment Here
22.
You don't have the original pick up cover do you... I love the big Chrome brick...
'fraid not, I did a deal with a guy who wanted to add another chrome pickup to his shark, (you can only get the black ones now.) I bet that turned out to be an awesome bass!
23. You're a man of impeccable taste, sir, like I said, I'll probably regret it
24. Got a big cardboard box, now and some bubble wrap, so will be able to ship to UK mainland for £20.00
