Maruszczyk Elwood 5 Custom **Price drop Now £795!!** - *SOLD*

**Edit! Now £795** Going under the knife in a couple of weeks for wrist decompression surgery so this won't be getting played anytime soon. I'm dropping the price to £795 as it's too nice to be hanging on the wall gathering dust. This is a very playable, comfortable and great sounding bass, grab yourself a bargain!! Continuing the Carpel tunnel induced sale of my long scale basses, here's my rather lovely Maruszczyk Elwood Custom 5 string Bass up for grabs. It's in excellent condition with no dings or gouges and just one barely visible mark on the upper horn which is hidden by the strap. Truss rod is in working order and there are no issues with the bass. Built in 2017, it is 34" scale, 18mm string spacing at the bridge, passive electronics with Haussel pickups and vol/vol/tone controls. Currently strung with Ernie Ball Cobalt flatwound strings for a great old school tone. It weighs 8.58lbs and with Hipshot Ultralite tuners, it balances perfectly. (the original tuner screw holes are slightly visible on the rear of the headstock for full disclosure...) It is finished in a lovely matt transparent red burst with a satin tinted vintage neck. It has straplocks and will be supplied with a leather strap, Maruszczyk branded gig bag and build certificate. I am based in Swindon and would prefer the potential buyer to come and try the bass out but I do travel a bit and I'm not averse to a road trip within reason for petrol money or I can post at buyers expense as a last resort....

Vinyl wrap causing wireless interference?

Some progress! Attempting to get my head around the manual! By using the adapter pictured below, it works perfectly, does that confirm the two wires on the output jack are reversed? -
Vinyl wrap causing wireless interference?

Wouldn't it still happen when connected with a cable as well though? -
Here's my Ibanez SRMD205 Mezzo. It's been given the vinyl wrap treatment. Happy with how it's turned out visually but now, when I plug the transmitter of my WAZA Air Bass into the jack, it sounds like an industrial steam hammer! A constant repetitive loud banging sound through the headphones irrespective of whether the strings or audio is being played. It worked perfectly before the wrap and works perfectly when connected with a cable to my amp or Korg Pandora. The WAZA works perfectly with all my other basses, active or passive. I've changed the battery of the bass as a matter of course and poked around the wiring in the cavity to no avail. I can only assume the Vinyl wrap must have some kind of RF shielding capability or something... Have a listen..... Waza.m4a Any thoughts?

Have you considered a vinyl wrap? There's a couple of topics on here .....

So, a bit of a dilemma! You may have seen the ad for my ACG which is up for sale due to me suffering wrist issues, making long scale instruments too painful to play for any length of time. I have recently been playing a loaned 32” scale Ibanez and found the smaller scale really encouraging in terms of playing comfort with the wrist condition. I also have a Marusczyck Elwood long scale which has some cosmetic damage to the headstock, another great bass but unlikely to realise its potential sale value with the damage. Now I could get it repaired which could cost a couple of hundred quid or take a hit and sell it as it is. I would then need to spend out on a medium scale bass if I want to keep playing. I had a thought that maybe getting a 32” neck built might be an option… I don’t even know if it’s possible to attach a different scale neck to an existing instrument so I might be barking up the wrong tree or the cost might be prohibitive…It’s a really nice bass and would be great to be able to keep at least one (or part of) the basses that have kept me GAS free for a few years… Any thoughts….?

ACG J-Type 5 String. **FreeUK mainland delivery *** - *SOLD*
andyonbass replied to andyonbass's topic in Basses For Sale
I now have suitable packaging so I am able to post this (minus gig bag) to the UK at cost . I would use a fully insured courier which comes out at about £50 within the UK according to a rough quote I have just obtained through Overland Express. Alternatively, a buyer can arrange their own preferred courier and I will ensure it is packed appropriately....(see my feedback) I make frequent trips between Wiltshire and the Sussex coast and am happy to go the scenic route to make a delivery within reason if that helps... -

ACG J-Type 5 ***Edit: I now have suitable packaging materials and can now offer free insured mainland UK delivery.*** So the dreaded Carpel Tunnel syndrome appears to have got the better of me and I’ve had to reluctantly admit that a full scale bass is becoming just too painful to play for any length of time. As a consequence I’m devastated to have to offer my wonderful ACG J-Type 5 string bass up for sale. It is pretty much in perfect condition apart from 1 slight mark on the body near the upper horn which is only visible if you hold it up to the light at a certain angle. It’s currently strung with new SIT nickel 45-130 and combined with the John East Uni Pre 4K circuit there’s a plethora of usable tones available. Specs Below…. Top Wood Swamp Ash Body Wood: Swamp Ash Body Finish: Satin Lacquer Neck Wood: 3 piece Maple. Finger Board: Rocklite Radious: Flat Scale: 34′′ Neck Finish: Satin Lacquer Pickups: 2 x ACG SB70 Vintage wound Alnico single coils. Pre-amp: East Uni-Pre 4K Hardware: Hipshot Type B bridge, Gotoh GB350 Resolite tuners, Weight 4.273 kg String spacing at bridge 18mm Could be happy to deliver or meet half way within reason but would prefer the potential buyer to collect from Swindon where it can be viewed and tried out. Price is £1150

It must be for a headless bass - a standard 34" Jazz bass doesn't quite fit. I remember buying it here a few years ago, realising it didn't fit my bass and forgot all about it! Mind you, if I paid all that money for a headless Status, I would invest in a better bag than this!! will post for 3 quid....

Anyone else never heard of this band from the 70's? Can't imagine why they never gained a higher profile, some very talented ladies .... I'm looking forward to doing some more research although a google search might reveal some dubious results given the name!! Enjoy

I have one I am about to put up for sale, it's been my back up and never been used in anger! I am gradually selling all my gear as I am no longer gigging. PM for a good price!!
