1. Bodhisattva by Steely Dan. Not sure if it was a hit over here but it certainly hit the spot for me! Starts at about 1.35
2. How about a talk on In Ear Monitoring by someone in the know? I see quite a few threads on the subject so there might be some interest...?
3.
Eat a garlic and anchovy vindaloo before going on stage.
Are you a solo artist by any chance?
4. Here's an opportunity for someone.......Rockhopper Studio
5.
How "permanent" is this marker, do you reckon?
I found that it would need re-applying maybe a couple of times a year, possibly more if you play with your thumb over the neck...... It'll come off with a fingernail if necessary
6. Gigged with my fretless last night so i thought I'd give this a try and it does indeed expose sloppy intonation!! Will include a mic stand and speakon lead if collected from Swindon....

8. I've used one of these to good effect in the past.........https://www.amazon.co.uk/Uni-Ball-PX-20-Permanent-Marker-White/dp/B00177ZN6G/ref=pd_sim_201_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=J5B260C9HW5FK1CFA1SY
9. i got one up for sale at the moment, you're welcome to come over to Swindon to try it.....probably let it go for a ton if you collected. I found it useful when I was playing fretless in a loud band.... Edit: Yes I have paid the marketplace subscription!!
10. Unwanted Christmas present - band using in ears now Never used in anger, but from a couple of rehearsals, I would say it really works in terms of improving hearing yourself, particularly the high mids and highs. Our rehearsal space ain't great soundwise and I can see no reason to think it wouldn't work for all venues as per the sales pitch. Obviously boxed as new. Priced to sell inc postage to UK mainland. 11. Another satisfied customer here! Just collected a cab from Ordep, item was exactly as described and the whole transaction went off without a hitch! I'd have no hesitation in recommending him, whether buying or selling. One of the Basschat good guys!!
12. Got this as a Christmas Pressie but the band have now gone "in-ear", making this surplus to requirements before I even had chance to use it in anger. From experimenting on a couple of rehearsals it appears that that it does indeed sharpen up the definition , particularly if you have the highs and mids boosted. Didn't get chance to try in different venues but I can see no reason why it wouldn't be beneficial in difficult rooms. Got a bit of expense to recoup now so I have priced it to sell. Obviously boxed as new. £135 posted, saving about sixty quid. http://www.bassdirec...ss_Ear_Box.html
13. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I pointed them to this thread and it turns out they've had a great time. Not sure where they've been yet though!!
She'll undoubtedly visit Abbey Road and with 3 of her friends hold up traffic...
. Thanks again!
14.
100 Club
Would have been spot on for me - London Blues Week!
15. Thanks guys, plenty to keep them out of mischief there...

17. So my 18yr old daughter (who is an inspired beginner bass player) is spending this weekend in London, with a group of (non bass playing but music loving) friends and is looking for some interesting music related places to visit. I've suggested Denmark Street (or what remains of it), but at a bit of a loss for anywhere else. I don't think something like the Bass Gallery is likely to enthral her friends, however interesting it would be for her so I'm looking for ideas to entertain them. Any good music pubs around the Northolt area? All suggestions welcome Cheers Andy
18. Here's a screenshot , if you're on Facebook you might be able to message the seller.....

20.
It surprises me that considering all the love for ACG there's not a great deal of footage of them on youtube. There's a couple of videos but not a lot. I am looking forward to trying one out though, if I don't manage to take up any of the several offers I've had from BC'ers on this thread before hand I'll be certainly getting my grubby mits on one or two of them at the London Bass Guitar Show.
If you're in Manchester you could have a look at the Bass Lounge in Worsley - their web page indicates they have a couple of ACGs and Alpher in stock...
21. I would have been gigging this by now if my Dingwall had sold a few days sooner! I sold the Dingwall a couple of days after your original ad was pulled so I ordered a custom bass ......could have kicked myself when it reappeared, especially at the lower price! I'm really surprised this hasn't sold, have a bump on me...
22. Dunno if this fits the bill..... https://www.facebook.com/groups/184621401586617/permalink/1185952728120141/?sale_post_id=1185952728120141
23. This is how I packed a bass I recently sent to Slovenia. Arrived safely in 4 days with UPS via inter parcel. I used a gig bag, loads of cardboard and large bubble packaging that came with a bit of Christmas shopping from Amazon. All packed inside a bike box. Oh yeah - my camping roll mat was sacrificed for the cause too! I would always put a copy of the shipping labels inside the box too......
